Default which is better? LCD (LED) or Plasma?

    I'm torn between this,,
    Samsung UA-40D5000 (UA40D5000) 40in Series 5 Full HD LED 120Hz TV

    and
    Samsung PS43D490 43in Plasma 3D 600Hz TV

Pls help me decide which one should i buy.
My purpose is playing PS3 and watching DVD, MKV, Blue-ray, XVID torrent movie files in my external hard drive in a very good screen resolution.

I visited today the samsung outlet at ayala, the salesboy said that if your purpose was for ps3 gaming they would recommend the plasma becoz plasma doesn't produce shadows to the character especially if the are running/fighting.
Which does comes first,,, the plasma or the LED?

Does this "120hz" and "600hz" matter sir? Is plasma comes first than the LED ?

As far as I know, Plasma is old tech. Its heavy, energy hog, and just a flattened up CRT. Specs show its only a 1,024 x 768 Resolution, its not even HD. I think LED TV is the way to go. It has a lot of features.

plasma is power hungry compare to LED. But in terms of durability/longetivity if its properly handle,, which one would last? Since i have kids nga grabe ka kiat, asay lig-on ani nla?

Plasma: standard refresh rate, low resolution, short life, high power consumption, high heat but brightness and contrast is super duper good.

LCD (w/ LED backlit): high refresh rate (120hz), high resolution, long life, super low power consumption, low heat, brightness and contrast is very good.

Ever wonder why Plasma TVs are so cheap right now? maybe there is a reason...

Sa movies ra nindot ang plasma but may lose out some details if imong source 1920x1080 because that plasma screen is only 1024x768, refresh rates nila wont really matter as those 600Hz screens are usually interpolation.. Ilang real screen refresh is only 60Hhz ( and some 120Hz ) but if you like the "soap opera" effect then the 120Hz from LED-TV's should be enough.
