    Default Question About Flash.

    Good evening fellow Istoryans.,

Im new to photography, im using d3100 with 18-55kit,.im planning to buy a flash, and im having these questions in my mind. (Ang kasagaran nku shootan kay gabie, nya people,.naa certain activities nga docu.han, moving ang subjects, pero ngit2,)

    1. Unsa nga flash ang ika.recommend ninyo?
    2. Sakto ba nga flash akong paliton? or go for a prime, (50mm or 35). Sorry pero dili pa man gud ko katancha ug unsa ba gyud ka.lamdag or kangit2 ang prime.
    3. Gnahan sad ko sa idea nga magprime kay dugay ra sad ku gnhan nga magprime.

Hello bay Ako lang i-itemize ug tubag imong queries.

    1. Ang pinaka-recommended gyud nga flash is OEM. So imong case, Nikon.
Model wise, get the most expensive flash you can afford, so maybe SB900(?).
If nahan ka ug dili gyud kaayo expensive, mo suffice ra ang SB600.
If you want to opt for 3rd party, I'd recommend Nissin Di866.

    2. Ang choice is depende sa what you think mao pirmi nimo gamiton.
If I were in your shoes, I'd get a prime lens sa.
Then if focal length wise, I'd get the 35mm pero if mahalan ra ka, nice
ra pud ang 50mm. Pero dapat kanang 'G' nga lens kay need man gud
to ug 'motor' ang affordable na 50mm sa Nikon para maka auto focus.

    3. If ganahan gyud ka ug prime, go for prime You can't go wrong
For sure after maka palit ka ug prime, maka kita ka sa improvement
sa imong kuha like shallow DOF, improved contrast ug of course,
    image sharpness.

In my case bay, I bought a prime lens first then after sometime, nagpalit
    ko ug flash.

    Hope this helps

id go for prime lens, then dont be scared to bump up your ISO..not too much though ISO 800 os ok at most. if you shoot at that distance to the stage or subject kay dili ra kau useful imo flash.

for the flash, try checking out the sb700. it got good reviews. i had sb600 but limited ra au for me. nissin is a good third party flash and yong nuo, well, i bought them for strobing lang.

sa lens, as you said more on group shots ka. id recommend something with a wider focal length. pero if gusto jud ka ug prime, the 35mm is a good choice. remember you are using a crop camera. as for me, i had the 17-55 f2.8 and it never left my cam since i put it in except lang for times nga ganahan ko mu use ug long telephoto for moon shots. i had 35mm, sold it. i had 50mm, sold it. i guess it does not fit my interests. i liked the versatility of the lens.

To give you an idea Bro kini without flash 50mm prime at ISO400 ... nindot ang flash kung naa ka kabandahan pero kung wala nya direct sa subject, sinaw gyud ang agtang. Nindot ang flash kung offcam ... hehe

Get an OEM flash. I bought a Nissin di622 Mark I but now it's just in my drybox because it's misfiring. I bought a Canon 430EX II to replace it so mas daku na hinuon ako gasto overall. Just bite the bullet and get a Nikon flash.

you can use your built in flash, but see to it naa ka sa manual mode, adjust nimo ang A, Tv, ug Flash power nimo. And bump your ISO at high.

or you can use fast prime lenses, at least 50mm max. kay kung taas ug focal length mas prone to camera shakes.

if you really want to buy flash, go for the OEM aron sure walay mahay or go for vivitar 285HV.
