still not that easy even with experience and master's. regular route for nurses is EB3 which is under retrogression. most people with master's and/or experience is shooting for the H-1B visa route which is much faster than EB3 but the problem is nobody is petitioning even for NP slots not unless you have connections or relatives here that can influence the company to petition you particularly. staffing agencies are also not hiring and are in hot water particularly in New York because you get to work somewhere else, not your petitioner which was alright before but not anymore. USCIS is very strict now, unlike before. You should work for your petitioner in the location indicated in the petition, eradicating the middle men which are mostly staffing agencies.
if you want to get a job here fast via H-1B, accounting, math, IT and even law is the way to go even with the current state of economy. definitely, healthcare is on hold.

tinuod.. my husband got his job only because naay recommendation from his aunt nga sikat nga doctor sa ilang area.. swerte pud mi na he was born there so i can get in the US through another route.. ambot aha if makakuha kog job didto inig abot nako.. i hope i will.. pero i'll be willing to take on other jobs sad..
my wife came here with H1B as sped teacher and me as an H4 holder..based on experienced and observation, mas dali ka makakuha ug green card petitioner if you are a teacher on a private school..H1B is usually 3 yrs contract with extension and you have a good chance for greencard if your employer likes your service.swerti2x lang gihapon.unlike sa EB3,taas ang waiting time pero immigrant ka deretso.
Agree btaw pud ko, it is still really tough all around. Recession pa gyud ghapon. The present healthcare model is not sustainable. Medicare and Medicaid, they're not working. Uncle Sam is too nice, putting more and more people on welfare. In the meantime, naglisod ang mga naa ang negosyo sa healthcare kay Uncle Sam keeps slashing Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements/payments. Usahay mangawot ko's akong ulo mag huna2x, does Uncle Sam have a mythical "kaban" full of dollars where he's drawing the money from to support all the people on gov't assistance? There are far too many people on welfare. Uncle Sam has become an enabler of sorts, like a kind-hearted mom who lets her 40-yr old lazy-ass son stay in the basement and live off of her, instead of saying, "you're 40 yrs old, get off that couch, stop playing WoW and go find a freakin' job!"
Maybe this is a blessing in disguise for our local nurses? My cousin who graduated a couple of years ago is now making good money being his own boss sa iyang negosyo.
hahay....... paeta ani. diri nalang gyud ta pinas ani.
Teachers in a couple of states via H-1B are in trouble because their petitioner which is the state cannot afford to retain them anymore. In most states, "at will" employment applies. Most OFW's in the U.S. do not have a employment contract only an employment agreement which is actually very simple and I doubt that it will hold water. If they have an employment contract, most of the time it is onerous in nature, usually in favor of the employer. Some of the teachers are holding on to the working contract as an OFW which is actually no good if the employer cannot afford to pay the employees anymore even if they will sue. This is a no-win situation.
Some of them are actually blackmailing their petitioning employer by threatening to divulge that it was not the petitioner who paid for the H-1B petition; nevertheless, still a no-win situation. I just can't recall the states involved on top of my head. If I remember right, New York, Maryland, California or Texas.

It's actually DME fraud that took the big chunk of Medicare's funds. No thanks to the lobbyists. Next are nursing homes, hospices and home health agencies and of course, the recession caused by the housing bubble. Hospitals and people on welfare, small time fraud ra na sila. LOL!
Did you see BCBS ad? "You want the best insurance? Move to Canada! ..or get Blue Cross Blue Shiled." hehe!!

If you are a teacher under LAUSD or its chartered school, slim chance or no chance at all you will be petition.mao na katong public school teacher under H1B,hinay2x ug pangita ug lain school (if hiring) usually private montessori or pre-school nga maka-afford ug petition ang employer..yes still a no-win situation, pero ang pinoy mangita ug paagi nga dili jud mo-uli..or if wala jud swerti, last option, divorce the spouse sa pinas and mary a US citizen hehe
