akong tan-aw aning lone congressional district sa lapu2x is daku kaayu sayup... katag kaayu ang cordova ana... dapat unta to gi apil lang ta ang cordova sa lapu2x. bulag kaayu ang cordova sa mandaue og consolacion...
kung gi apil ang lapu2x og cordova for separate district, well uyon ko sa mandaue-consolacion district... but being a lone congressional district ang mandaue, murag di ko uyon ana...
ang gusto nako lapu2x & cordova - one district; mandaue & consolacion - another district...
i beg to disagree sis ... the constitution says that every 250,000 population must have a representative in congress ... my City's population is fast becoming qualified for 2 congressional districts ...
for more than 20 years (way before Lapu-Lapu City became qualified to be a lone district) it was never done by those responsible for it ...
read up on my previous posts ... i have shown that my City can be given its long overdue honor ... and Consolacion/Cordova can also be a separate district citing the many examples of congressional districts that do not meet the population requirement ... that is if it is also in the best interests of the BOLAY-OG of a congressman of the 6th district ...

CEBU, Philippines - With a vision of making Mandaue City a premiere business destination in Central Visayas in 2016, Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, other government leaders, and sectoral representatives have signed a “covenant” committing themselves to implement the newly-crafted Mandaue City Development Strategy Road Map.
Assisted by the Institute for Solidarity in Asia, a non-government agency, the city represented by the mayor, presented the road map including measurable targets and a scorecard to a multi-sectoral group.
The panelists during the half-day activity was held at Days Hotel in Mandaue City were Eric Mendoza, president of Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dominica Chua, chief operating officer of Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Vicmando Suliva of Tripartite Industrial Peace Council, Francisco Eizmendi, president of ISA, Ruy Moreno of ISA, Archt. Joseph Michael Espina, dean, USC College of Architecture, Ofelia Oliva of BLGF, DTI regional director Asteria Caberte, DepEd provincial supervisor Arden Monisit, Engr. Zoilo Cortes, and Guadalupe Latonio of CLEAR, an environmental group.
Eizmendi, president of ISA said the success of the project requires a shift in paradigm from business as usual to actual transformation in all aspects of government.
He said the Performance Government System (PGS) they have introduced in Mandaue helps transform the organization. He said the city is now prepared for the final presentation in Manila on March 30 before a national and international audience. (FREEMAN)
the constitution implies that for an effective and efficient delivery of services, a representative is necessary for every 250,000 population...a good example is in education sector wherein, to achieve effective and efficient education, the teacher to student ration should ideally be 1/35...in philippines, we adopted 1/45.....
Mandaue is way over 250,000 population.
we can make my Mandaue a Lone District ... and create a separate district for Consolacion/Cordova citing the many examples of congressional districts that do not meet the population requirement ... what better argument to solve the 20 year wrong done to my City ...
but hurry ... because my Mandaue's ever increasing population ... is fast approaching being qualified for TWO (2) congressional districts ...
