"Jimmy isn't really trying to make a social commentary or be funny. He has probably discovered at least one sure way of getting hits from some 26 million Filipinos on social media and that is to pluck a very sensitive nerve by picking on flaws in "pinoy culture".

Anyway, complaining for the sake of complaining or worse, just for the sake of getting some attention is just pathetic.

I think that if people are complaining because they want to improve things, they shouldn't stop at just complaining. They have to take steps to fix it....

As far as online campaigns are concerned, it should have the following elements: The complaint must be stated as clearly as possible.

The complaint cannot be vague like, "The whole government is corrupt" or "there is no justice in the Philippines". It has to be specific...

And also, if you really want to solve a problem that affects a lot of people, you have to state the complaint in a manner that will not be offensive to the people whose cooperation you will need.

Using a smart-ass approach may look cool, but the thing is, not everybody will find it cool or funny. The worst thing that can happen is that it may just offend people who can actually help solve the problem. "

With all the F words aside in Vid , couldn't help but notice our fellow Cebuano's were still quite courteous, being too helpful , surprised seeing a Caucasian man walking around holding a video prompting them to smile without knowing they were being slammed by a man and his opinions. Oh and yes , am not going to ride this debate but ask a question, and that is .....

Not yet ....( sorry had to share this first ) before I ask the question , I'd like to share a somewhat interesting conversation with someone from England , Liverpool to be exact , the foreigner has been here for a few years too. Wondered why people were sooo very nice, too nice , to a point in the foreigner's words " I was getting really shy " , wondered why Cebuano's or Filipinos were at times too good , too scared , too helpful , too shy ( yup you get the drift ) so on .... towards white foreigners. Now to continue with conversation , this foreigner mentioned " I just want to be normal " normal around Filipinos , and continues I want to have a nice conversation with locals as an equal. With a sigh, I think people need to be open globally here, Good education being given not limiting to Private Schools. Filipino mass has this perception of white men being better and I hate it continues the foreigner , as I listen with a glass of rum and coke.

Quite far off the discussion of someone being a lil too harsh on Philippine culture, i know, but I thought maybe part of our problem is just what the foreigner mentioned. We need to have an open mind to things around us , a strong sense of nationalism, good education that's available to everyone. Kita diri sa Istorya.net may have had good learning through schools , travel , reading , friends that are opinionated but honestly there is a very big percentage that doesn't think like the debates going on in here. I know the video was a tad harsh but if you sit down and think about it , maybe it will motivate us to be better people , a better country. It's a waste of time pointing fingers at people , I like to think people just do things to help.

So my question is simply - " What are we doing to help solve problems in Cebu " or if from other regions , tag the question.

It saddens me to think we cannot be better people or better than other countries. Looking at the video closely , sad to say as a Cebuano , even realizing the norms before this video came out , its a wake up call , someone just got fed up , too fed up to spend hours making a video about problems here.

He has done the video in bad faith. Instead nga iyang i-specify ang mga lugar nga wala niya magustohi, gilaras niya ang tibuok Pinas. Kay kun iyang i-specify, gamay raman ang moreact. Pero kun i-generalize ang tibuok nasud, ang tibuok nasud man ang mohatag og attention sa iya ug sa iyang channelfix.
