I saw the movie, Act of Valor, the other day and I was so touched by this poem. I don't really know if you can call it a poem, but it was a beautiful creation nonetheless.

    Live Your Life

"So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none. When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision. When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home."

Tecumtha (1768? - 5 October 1813) Native American leader, Shawnee mystic and warrior, usually known as Tecumseh Quoted by Lee Sulzman in Shawnee History

Wrote this a long time ago. Purely fiction.

    "Miss"

    Miss,
    Sweet
    Lovely
    Quirky
    Naughty
    Miss

    I long to trace the
    contours
    of your body

    Where are you?
    Where did you go?
    Why are you suddenly
    silent?

    Last night
    I took off
    your summer dress
    and we danced together
    naked
    Side by side
    Lying down
One on top of the other
    Kneeling
    Gasping for air
    Sitting up
    Our hands clasped
    Our fingers locked
    We whispered to each
    other's ears
    You closed your eyes
    And I fixed mine
    on your beautiful face
    and I carried you
    in my arms
    held your hips
    pulled you close
    hugged you tight
    fixed your hair
    and took care of you

    We danced
    You smiled
    and almost cried
    I loved your voice
    Your silent song
    That only I can decipher

    We melted into one
    body
    Moving with the same
    rhythm
    Burning with the same
    fire
    and violent hunger

    Miss,
    Sweet
    Lovely
    Quirky
    Naughty
    Miss

    Where are you?
    Where have you gone?
    Why are you suddenly
    silent?
    Why are you suddenly
    cold?

    How Much?

    How much to say,
and how much to keep secret?
    How much to divulge
    and make public,
    and how much to conceal
    and keep private?
    How much to admit,
    and how much to deny?
    How much to speak
    in literal terms,
    and how much to speak
    in the most vague
    and cryptic language?
    How much to express,
    and how much to clothe
    in mystery?

    Meeting Halfway Across Nowhere
    by: Archfear

    I.

Empty stares at the heaven’s abyss, upward, seeming less

What lies above my eyes conceived

Searching, soaring, wondering what’s there for me

Hoping to find something, is it this, could it be

What heaven has in store for me

    II.

Across the distances, across the miles

Eyes are meekly seeking, going farther, soul searching

Couldn’t find anything, not a refuge, not a touch or a kind

Is this place empty? not a sound, not a beat, not a soul can be found

So familiar, yet so odd, living a stranger in a place I call mine

    III.

Oh where do I go, or what do I seek?

    A thing, a sound, a feeling, a place, a familiar face

What, where, how, why do I feel so incomplete?

So many questions that abound my being, of my feelings, and of my fate

There’s only so much that I can take

    IV.

Is there such exist, a thing, a feeling, a place of pure bliss

In dreams? In thoughts, in other person’s face?

Wish I could come to my senses and be awake in my sleep

I think yes, I think not, I shrug in disbelief

Of the things my heart tells me, which my mind dare not speak

    V.

There is no such to what my heart has been longing

Of a place which my mind could not even conceive

Look not, nor search not, of the things I believe and do

Rest my feet, rest my mind, rest my heart and let go

What I feel and think are things of two

    VI.

I was looking for a place where reality and fantasy meet

Where my mind could tell my heart when to beat

Illusions wrap me and I think it’s not fair

Is it too much to ask of these?

I’m meeting myself halfway across nowhere

On one rainy afternoon, I was going home walking on a street in the downpour of a heavy rain. I was gazing at my surroundings and all of the people I came to cross by. I looked at the heavens... contemplated... then felt a heavy rush in my heart. When I arrived home still dripping wet, I took a pen, wrote pieces of my emotion randomly on a paper, then decided to put it into poetry... It took me an hour or so to finish conveying my heartfelt grief and fell asleep. Then had a fever the next day... lol

Will post more of my poems... I used to write poems before and even self-proclaimed as a poet. I will try to find those pieces of literature I wrote at some random points in my life.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back ...
Some people are just not meant to be in your life
No matter how much you want them to be ...
You hug him goodbye like it's nothing
While all you just want to do is hold him forever ...
I used to smile when I told people that you are mine,
But now I can't smile and say your name at the same time...

    Ghost in the Pass

Twilight falls in cold peaceful December evening,
and then I found my self having a drink in a local bar.
Where I saw a woman a beautiful one ineffable I would say,
But only sadness is my affirmation to her secretive traits to portray.

A man once attract at her mellifluous beauty of character,
sadly watched her teardrop flow to the sound of melancholy.
For she was a chemistry of love and hate,
a masterpiece of an art, emotionally paint in my deep affection.

Meanwhile she found herself in a state of serendipity,
sitting alone in her form of stillness.
Ghostly! In my presence, she catches me with her tearful eyes,
in time where I decide to reveal my nature of existence.

Then we talk, we drink, and drop and we sing and get drunk.
While the melody still alive, we cuddle hold each other’s hands.
    Although she hid herself in the image of happiness;
but she can’t hind her sentiment of sadness.

Dusk greets us and still I don’t know her name,
I asked once she said it doesn’t matter anyway.
She took my time and I enjoyed her presence,
into the lovely evening of our farewells.

No one could tell what I felt that day.
Even in my dreams I still remember her face.
I felt incipient love in her ways
and I wish that it would have just stayed the same.
