I have the Eken M008s before, an android MID tablet from China. Not very user friendly but it does what i bought it for; read PDF files, comic files, browse the internet & play movies & photos. I broke it when i accidentally sat on it (left it in the sofa).
Next came the Lenovo A10. Better than the china MID, but it's a crappy expensive slab. Very laggy and unresponsive, irritates me bloody looney. Only bought it because i thought it's a Lenovo, then it should have quality. But then again...
Next is the Amazon Kindle Fire and the best so far i've used/owned. Nothing fancy, does what i bought it for. The only thing that bugs me is that it's locked to Amazon, meaning i can only use Amazon Apps Market. And the bloody thing requires a continental US addressed credit card for you to activate & use the Amazon Apps Market. Even when downloading free apps like Facebook or Yahoo! Mail or anything else. Bloody bollocks, ei? I'm having this unlocked & rooted now (hopefully someone here's techie enough to help me, i'm willing to pay) so i can use it's full potential.
And lastly, i have an incoming tablet, it's the Ainol Novo 7 Aurora. I bought it online from chinagrabber.com for US$175. The selling points for me here is that it has an IPS screen, built-in 16gb memory & authentic android 4.0 icecream sandwich, and not to mention it's CHEAP. But what bloody bummed me out is that they have this on waiting list and have it's shipment of ALL orders till March 15th. Due to the enormous volume of orders of this model & some glitches on the 1st batch. So there, the suspense of finally receiving it is a bloody agonizing wait.
very popular na lagi na karon ang ainol nga tab... ive heard murag baratu ra daw na siya... den its android... wow!

galaxy tab P1000 (3G+Wifi) user here.. still running froyo...
though wala nako kaau gamita kay nalingaw pa ko sa akong Note
A cousin has the same model and it's pretty good for the price of a branded tablet, and it's responsive too. All games that he throws at it, plays well. 720p movies play without problems, except for the viewing angle issue that bothers a lot of people, not me though, who watches a movie from the sides anyway . 1080 is a different story. But overall, it's a good tablet for the price (he bought it for less than 9,000 pesos). Also, people at XDA are almost done with CM7 on the A1 (source was released a few weeks ago), that should improve the A1's performance.
But i've read online that others do have the same problems as you do, but those units were lemons and they had it replaced, maybe you have the same too?
Just curious, have you tried if this works?

I'll just keep things very short.
I've been a user for SuperAMOLED devices since it came out with the S8500 and Galaxy S, no issues what so ever. I would say display is perfect at a quality perspective.
With the Galaxy S2, Note and Tab7.7 various quality control display defects are surfacing, some are even making false claims that those defects are 'normal', these defects are very common.
SuperAMOLED's biggest advantage is the deep black levels, the rest are actually 'better' on the IPS/PLS display, especially on the grey shades and white tones, viewing angles are also better on the IPS/PLS. SuperAMOLED has a higher level of saturation this is mostly user preference but it does screw up some colors to a certain degree, IPS/PLS is more accurate or natural.
