Before the Philippine Sportswriters Association starts handing out awards to the past year’s most illustrious athletes, we’ll jump the gun and announce our own honorees in very unusual categories.

Before the Philippine Sportswriters Association starts handing out awards to the past year’s most illustrious athletes, we’ll jump the gun and announce our own honorees in very unusual categories.

It’s our way of welcoming the New Year with a smile. So, grin and bear it.

We’ll limit our awardees to the Philippine Basketball Association in recognition of the country’s No. 1 sports entertainment vehicle.

Double-double award – RenRen Ritualo, MacMac Cardona, JayJay Helterbrand, Dondon Hontiveros, Jojo Tangkay, JunJun Cabatu.

High caliber award – Billy Mamaril, Magnum Membrere.

Fruitful career award – Dorian Pena (durian na, piña pa).

All-Little Boys team – Nino Canaleta, Nino Gelig, Kerby (The Kid) Raymundo, Boyet Bautista, Bitoy Omolon, Sonny Thoss.
