A political system is only as good as its leadership. There was a time when communism was very ideal, pero karun nga cynical ang mga tao--it isn't.

i dont think the ads is showing pure socialism... in theory its good... but once it is applied its a different story and normally it goes the other way around...

it's just that the video has too many errors. revolutionary socialism is not militarism. a communist party dominated government, while striving to take an overt, active and centralized control of the society, does not mean that everything (private homes included!) are the properties of the state. it's an insane notion that has stuck because of these kinds of propaganda.

on the other side of the coin, the capitalist alternative option is really better. you have nations raping another for resources such as oil. you have media that shows you only what sells. you have a social hierarchy that has the majority at the bottom feeding the minority at the top.

depends on what one believes is the connotation of "communism" and the definition of "democracy".

depends on how you define what constitues a socialist government. no government is purely socialist or purely capitalist.

socialist Russia was undeniably rich and industrialized to be able to be at par with the US in military and economic influence.

there are the modern welfare states and the Nordic model that seems to be highly successful.

currently? there are countries who consider themselves constitutionally socialist. But whether they are socialists to the strictest term is debatable. Like the PRC.

Norway and the other Scandinavian countries for example--Socialist principle along with the free market principles. Grabe sad ang taxes nila didto. People often confuse 'Marxist' socialism with social democracy, which is the model in Norway and other Scandinavian countries.
