I believe what Hitachi means is that they have the first 1 Terabyte internal HDD. That is because our company purchased 16 pieces of 1.6 Terabyte Lacie external HDD last 2004. and last year we pruchased 3 pieces of 2.1 Terabyte Lacie HDD again.

Over a terrabyte on one drive? I doubt it. Even external drives use regular internal drives.

And that is what is shown when we checked the actual capacity.
i'll try to post pictures on that if time allows.

The storage in the link you provided uses RAID to reach 1-2TB of data ... RAID uses multiple hard drives.

hhmmm.. the one we have in the office looks just like a Matrix or That's HDD enclosure found in most PC shops. i wonder if more than one HDD could fit inside that thing.
