UH-1s were suited for jungle warfare. Mao bitaw gamit kaayo ang huey sa Vietnam. It's just so old that they aren't as reliable as they used to be. And there are combat utility helicopters that are more efficient and advanced ani. Wa pa lang tay new helicopters pang ilis sa function sa huey run, because it makes up most of what is comprised in this element--so it has to be done gradually. A lot of thinking comes into phasing out military equipment.

UH -1 Hueys are used to transport troops in the first place.. but I also agree that because it is a utility helicopter it can be used for so many purposes.. but during the battle at vietnam naa na sila ka partner na cobra helicopter which serves as an attack helicopters for enemy's bases.

I think any insertion requires escort elements. Bisan pa siguro if blackhawks or unsa nga transport utility kylangan man ug escort.

That's why we have MD-520 as attack/escort helicopters....

BTW i've read somewhere na there are incoming 21 Hueys... Dunno the source kung asa kuhaon, cguro sa US gihapon...

We have a separate program for Combat Air Support (CAS) airplane, and mao sad ang usa sa requirement sa atoang paliton na Lead-In Fighter Trainer (LIFT) kay pde gamiton as Surface Attack Aircraft...

I think they are looking at the SUper Tucano as a replacement sa atoang OV-10...

kaning 21 Hueys sir, 2008 paman ni right? 46 man to gi dungan ug acquire. I think ni-abot nani sir. ky ang total operational/non-operational hueys ky ***63*** naman, and I read mga January 2011 that there are 5 due soon (gikan pa ni sa Bush administration)...and then another 5 pa jud TBA. (20 ang total sa agreement, 10 already delivered)

let me find that thread about the 46 hueys sa Timawa. I think didto to nako nakit-an.

yes nka basa sad ko ani.. i thnk ang ihatag is as is.. so out of 40+ hueys gamay ragyud ang ma assemble kay ang uban kay icannibalize man para mapahimuslan pa ang uban.. yet its still a great number though.

well, several sources account different numbers of hueys in the inventory. between 60-100+, not all operational of course. Unsa juy tinuod?

To be exact 41 ang active nga Huey in service.
