And also, I don't think anyone can place the blame for last game's loss squarely on Lin's shoulders. there were also too many missed 3 pt attempts as a whole team--compared sa Hornets. Amare and Lin made up most NY's score that game.

Lin will redeem himself. The important thing is that, he's now an integral part of the team. Even the critics can't deny that.

NEW YORK (AP)—ESPN has apologized for using a racial slur in a headline for a story on Knicks sensation Jeremy Lin.

ESPN ran the headline “Chink in the Armor” after Lin had nine turnovers in New York’s loss to the New Orleans Hornets on Friday night on its mobile website that could be seen on phones and tablet computers.

Lin is the NBA’s first American-born player of Chinese or Taiwanese descent. He has captivated sports fans with unexpected dominance on the court that sparked a seven-game winning streak.

ESPN says in a statement Saturday it removed the headline 35 minutes after it was posted. The cable network says it is “conducting a complete review of our cross-platform editorial procedures and are determining appropriate disciplinary action to ensure this does not happen again. We regret and apologize for this mistake.”

How this article got through ESPN's executive editor is beyond me.. This is so stupid & irresponsible.

I actually read this when I checked it on my phone until people on Twitter went nuts about this . "Chink in the armor" is already a common term in English language which means an "opening spot of an armor where a sword , spear , or bullet can get through" . It's just the word "Chink" also holds a racist term directed to Chinese people .

I don't know if they done this on purpose but using a word that could also concerns a specific race will never be a good choice in America where racism is still a sensitive topic . The headline didn't even correspond to the context of the article . According to Liz Mullen of Sports Business Journal tweeted ... "ESPN: The ESPN employee responsible for our Mobile headline has been dismissed. The ESPNEWS anchor has been suspended for 30 days."

I never went to journalism in college but I think "Weak LINk in the chain" would've been a better headline , at least .
