its a good thing california has a lot of filipino population. U.S. Rep. Ed Royce, R-Calif. help push it.
it would be a nice idea.. building it would be easy. but R&D arent. it could cost more than building the actual ship. heres the logic.. buying new ships cost around 5billion pesos where as to buy like the hamilton only cost 450mil.
building new ship cost uses research and development.. licensing. looking for the market would ease the cost though etc. then the actual cost of building the ship.

This is what we really want,to be able to manufacture our own ships...
The bigest problem in building our ships are weapons and systems integration... We still need to purchase licenses on radars, FCS (Fire control Systems), even engines... The biggest we have built so far is BRP Tagbanua, though an LCU i think we must learn from this experience... We have built the Aguinaldo class but they are underpowered...
Acquiring 2nd hand but capable ships is more economical than building our own, and we need as many hulls as we can acquire...
Sad but true... our forces are not competent enough compared to other countries... but with the recent aquisitions, its a step forward.
Corruption jud ang basolon ani..and the type of corruption that exists in our country.
The govt should bolster our maritime fleet since our country is an archipelago...and naval firepower is a must..
Advantage jud ang mga gagmay nga attack ships but medium sized gunships and subs are also important since dili ma apektohan ug weather... unsaon nalang timingon sa kontra ug bagyo ang gubat..yabo tanan..hehe.. again, latest development are a welcome sight..
Hamilton Class ships are lightly armed but they can patrol the spratlys for 40 days max even in rough seas... we don't have that capability before, hope they won't remove the SPS-40 system sa Dallas, thats a long range air and surface radar...
