Hired to take photo shots of the New Year's Eve Party at Chicago Cultural Center. Nikon SB-800 with Gary Fong's Lightsphere II.

is it really that good as what it says?

Boss TwinJet, re Gary Fong's Lightsphere well theres a bit difference using flash without it. Yes I like the Lightsphere very much.

Boss markyap, this one is very dark on my monitor. Same setting but with the lightdome attached to the lightsphere with full flash output. Please tell what you think about this on your monitor. And also, what monitor calibrator are you using? Spyder Pro? If you don't mind sharing something.

yes its just slightly under but still works a bit better coz at least its not distracting as the other photo na subra ka bright...for me its the composition on this shot that needs more attention i think
btw, it could be her makeup or the result of ur LS but the face seem to come out with a different color temp than the body(arms etc.)
what exact model of the LS are you using...their are like half a dozen version of LSII...im using the LSII photojournalist with ID and i love it.
as you can see in my last post, no change in color temp...very subtle even lighting

@markyap, am using the Lightsphere II with the Amberdome. There's also this very distracting lightings from the party that made it very difficult for me to adjust WB.

oh come one...ambiant lighting had nothing to do with her face and body looking like that...its either the flash or the makeup...dont blame it on the party lights man...

btw, since your using sb800...basing it on the way you discribed how you are using it in your previous posts...clearly is the reason why these photos dont look right...you are not using it correctly...unless your discription on how you used your flash is inaccurate...maybe if you could provide us the focal length used in the shot we can better explain it...
