MANILA, Philippines - Another nationwide frenzy is building up for the online lottery draw as the jackpot of the Grand Lotto game is expected to hit P254 million in tomorrow’s draw.
Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II said nobody got the winning number combination 26-48-21-40-9-13 for the Grand Lotto draw last Wednesday with a jackpot of P213,771,355.43. Rojas said that although nobody won the jackpot prize, at least 36 lucky players won the second prize worth 150,000 each after they picked five of the six-digit winning number combination.
He said ticket sales of the Grand Lotto have also soared from the average of P25 million per draw to P113 million in the last draw, an indication that a nationwide frenzy is now building up for the jackpot.
This is the first time this year that the jackpot of the grand lotto game breached P250 million. This is the third time since January that the lotto jackpot hit P100 million.
A carpenter from Las Piñas won the P342-million Grand Lotto jackpot two months ago and last month a government employee from General Santos City won the P101-million prize of the 6/49 Super Lotto game.
The biggest Grand Lotto jackpot was P741 million, which a balikbayan from New York won with the winning ticket he bought in Olongapo City in November 2010.
