A stomach ulcer, or peptic ulcer, is a lesion in the lining of the stomach that causes severe, sharp pain in the upper part of the abdomen. Traditional medicine often treats stomach ulcers with expensive prescription medications that soothe the symptoms for a period, but they do not treat the problem and can come with unwanted side effects. In the end, surgery is often recommended. It is possible that through natural home remedies you can prevent and treat stomach ulcers, avoiding both harsh drugs and painful surgery.

Limit the triggers that cause hyperacidity in the stomach to prevent and soothe stomach ulcers. Things such as spicy foods, alcohol, coffee, tobacco and overeating can increase the levels of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, causing and worsening peptic ulcers.
