Its called black clipping, a sudden color drop to black instead of a smooth transition. This not only happens to movies but everywhere including images,games and the UI.

It is caused by an incorrect gamma profile loaded up on the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Nexus and so far Samsung didnt comment about this issue considering a lot of people already have the Galaxy Nexus.

On some screens this clipping appears differently, this is a huge deal breaker for me gyud as I watch a lot of movies on my phone.

Anyone with a Galaxy Note can test this video clip from Iron man 2:

Use the stock player with brightness set to 0
Watch in a completely dark room to avoid reflections
Set the screen mode to 'standard' ( settings > display > screen mode )





Those apps will auto rerun anyway once closed, dli kaayo advisable mang task manager ka to auto kill apps as it would drain a lot of battery.

Removing unwanted stock applications is the better solution, root your phone and download titanium backup.

what method did you use to root ur note? mine's just got updated, will that work?

how bout on the s2 sir? does the black clipping as intense and worst as the Note ba sad?

The S2 does not even have that issue to begin with

Depends on what I do with my phone, I can fully drain a 100% charge in less than 3hrs or have it last 7 days while still using it.

what method did you use to root ur note? mine's just got updated, will that work?

There is no direct rooting for the DXLA1 firmware for now, you need to flash to a lower firmware.. say DXKJx and use the zerg rush exploit found on XDA-Developers.

naa mansad diay sa ako lcd tv and laptop screen ang color banding o cliping whatever, however I`m enjoying my note for the meantime...(:P

hmm.. how come I cant play that MKV file on my S2.. whenever I tried copying it.. it would crash my screen and restart again...

is the file compatible with the S2 stock player?

same thing happen sa akong note. pero after trying couple of times it did work. guess sa iron man lng nga file ni nko na experience. ive got lots of mkv file and it plays right away.

ako d jud bai.. kapila nako gtry ug copy.. mo windows restart screen dayon sa laptop pero mubalik ra man dayon ang windows screen...

yes,ang deli moplay sa ako stock kay m4v ra, sway mx video player w/ free codecs and when u copy mkv thru sd micro lang deli internal usb.....
