Default Is the GEN3 worth the higher price tag?

Ive been eyeing the Asus Maximus IV Gene Z motherboard lately.
now it has been revised, thus the Asus Maximus IV Gene Z/GEN3 was born.

Gene Z cost around p11,950 10 days ago.
While Gene Z/GEN3 cost around p13,000.

i compared both mobos, and the difference are only few.
the newer board supports SINGLE channel memory, while the older supports DUAL.
the new one resolves the Cougar Point issue found in the old Gene Z model.
then Asus felt more giving in the GEN3 version by including 4 sata 3g cables and 2 sata 6g cable.
the previous only included half of that cables.
and of course, the PCIe x16 expansion slot is now 3.0.
and it supports 22nm CPUs now (future Ivy Bridge??)
im not sure if these changes are really a viable reason to increase the price.

also, im a bit troubled by the "single channel memory" support mentioned.
because the technology is leaning forward to quad channel memory already. like the x79 chipsets.
isnt that a bit backward step? IMO, they should have retained the dual channel memory support.

and the ultimate question, is the update worth the price?
