books in print...i love to collect them![]()
i prefer printed books.
printed books. I like the feel and the scent of the paper and how you can go at your own pace....im fond of skim reading so it would be funny if i just keep on pressing the fast forward button in audio books! Also, i like the look of aged books. the dog ears and crease of the book covers..it reminds me of the journey I went through with that particular book and its characters. And another thing I like doing with books..i dont remove the price tags. hehe I enjoy seeing the price years later. I actually bought a hardbound colored book for P5 about 20 years ago!
Wow... I'm surprised a lot of people actually listen to audiobooks... I thought I'm only one among very few hehe...
I actually love audiobooks. I collect them. I have dozens already, though I haven't listened to them all yet.
But which do I prefer, books in print or audiobooks? Pareha ra ako tubag sa uban. They each have their own advantages. Books you can touch, audiobooks you can only listen. I find that words are more pleasurable to read than to listen to (pero usahay nindut pud ang audiobook kung maayo ang nagbasa). I also find nga mas mu-stick sa ako mind o mas ma-absord nako ang words if akong ginabasa, therefore mas na-appreciate nako ang book.
But most of us have busy lives, so audiobooks are convenient. They allow us to "read" books that we otherwise do not have the time to read. Ako pud, I live far from the city, so dako kaayo nga time ang ma-consume daily sa travel. Audiobooks allow me to put that time to better use.
Someone asked asa sila maka-download og audiobooks sa net. It's everywhere! Just Google it. Or you can start with Librivox.org, a fantastic site that features tons of audiobooks from the public domain. It's all free!
Btw, I love radio dramas, too. Like the ones produced by the BBC, they bring great works of literature to life.
@orange77 same here i dont remove price tags hehe
@josephdc Librivox materials are narrated by volunteers, right? i came across the site when i was looking for book narration companies. (i'm interested in book narration and looking for an avenue, like reading for the blind)
in print of course!![]()
