Default Re: 2012 NBA ALL-STAR Game (Orlando, Florida)

I just voted .. I will post players I voted and why .

    EAST EDITION

Jose Calderon - Realistically , he doesn't have highlight reels on his performance every game unlike CP3 , Rose , or Westbrook but looking at stats especially on assist-to-turnover ratio (where every PG should be good at) , he's currently #1 . But I'm not going to be surprised if he's not going to be selected because the media are hyping Rondo , Rose , Kyrie , and Wall . I'd be glad if he get selected as a reserve but fans would rather see PGs who has dazzling moves instead of PGs who value a quality possession .

Derrick Rose - I always believe he's an SG not a PG . It would be interesting to see if he gets to be an SG at the All-Star Game . PGs are most likely to selected aside from Rose are Rondo , D-Will , or Wall who are obviously can only play PG . If one of those PG gets selected , there's a chance Rose might play at SG . As a reigning MVP , he deserves a spot at this year's All Star Game .

LeBron James - Let's be real here , media hype influence All-Star votes . Am I voting LeBron because of the media hype , my answer is 'no' . Accept it or not , LeBron is the best SF in the league , if not the best basketball player right now . LeBron currently averages 29.0 ppg and compared to average Forwards which is 8.7 ppg and no SF has nearly identical or higher Win Shares per 48 of .345 .

Andrea Bargnani - The #1 overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft finally showing a Nowitzki-esque performance in this condensed season thanks to former Mavs assistant coach Dwayne Casey who's now the head coach for the Raptors . Currently averages 22.8 ppg , 6.7 rpg , and 2.0 apg . The only obstacle that would stand in the way for Bargs in the starting spot at PF for the All-Star is Amare because of media hype . Statistically compared to Amare , Bargs leads in almost important category such as PPG , TS% , eFG% , FT% , AST% , TOV% , BLK% , PFs , and WS . If voters would check stats (not highlight reels) before voting , it would change about who are really deserving to play at the All-Star Game ... and pretty sure they would pick Bargnani over Amare .

Dwight Howard - Hands down . Not only he's a phenomenal Center , the All-Star Game will be in his home turf which he can't wait to GTFO . As for reserve at Center , I'd love to have Roy Hibbert , because I'm so much pleased with his development . Too bad the Raptors traded him to the Pacers for Jermaine O'Neal back in 2008 .

On a side note ... If fans can choose a head coach for the East Team , I'd vote for Frank Vogel . Although if season ended today he's nowhere to be a candidate for COY , but looking at the Pacers' improvement since he replaced O'Brien and particularly this season , he's done an amazing job with the team .

I cant disagree you on this. However, I have reservations for JoseC and ABargs positions above. We should remember that this is All Star game. Fans do look for the Oohs and the aahs.

Here's the players I voted for the West team .

    WEST EDITION

Kyle Lowry - He's the most improved PG right now , and being the best player on the Rockets make him worthy of my vote . He's improving since he came to the big league . He has the highest WP48 - in the PG category - of .305 , and an eFG% of 50.0% (AVG PG is 47.3%) , and his TS% is 57.2% (AVG PG is 51.9%) ... [I got the eFG% and TS% from The NBA Geek website] . I think it's pretty slim this kid getting a spot because how many talented and marketable PGs in the West like CP3 , Westbrook , Rubio but I'd love to see him at the All-Star game because of his hardwork and not a lot of basketball fans appreciate his work ethic .

Steve Nash - As a fellow Canadian , I have to vote for him . When a player is in their 30's , they'd show a decline ... but not Kid Canada . He's the perfect example of an Outlier being mentioned by Malcolm Gladwell in his book called Outliers . At age 33 , he's one of the players who has WP48 above .200 . Mind you , he maintains a True Shooting Percentage (aka TS%) above .600 since the 2005-06 season , last season he has a career-high AST36 of 12.3 and attained above 10.0 in AST36 since 2005-06 season (which he had 12.0) , and the Suns has gained 2-3 more possession a game since he came to the team (check 'Pace') - I got them on Basketball-Reference if you don't believe me . Like Lowry , Nash has a slim chance to be at the All-Star game , although a 2-time MVP , he might get a "WTF is he doing here" look by the spectators .

Danilo Gallinari - You might wonder why I chose this guy instead of Kevin Durant . Ok , Kevin Durant is the best SF in the West right now and the captain of OKC Thunder . But looking at WS48 and WP48 , James Harden has more contributions on the team and more valuable (in theory) this season and Durant is still the same that even Ibaka has contributed more wins than Durant . Back to Gallinari ... the Nuggets is #1 in Pace at 96.7 which means they have a lot of possessions that turns to scores . He's the best player on the team despite they aren't a MARKETABLE team unlike OKC , Miami , and NYK . Hats off to Gallinari for his performance this season and his team is doing good despite the fact he doesn't have a lot of 'praise' by the media and fans .

Kevin Love - One of the most underrated player in the NBA , like Gallinari , he doesn't get a lot of praise he deserve that even Snooki of Jersey Shore has more hype than him . Even his All-Star video campaign - which he launched a special edition of his cologne and after-shave lotion called NUMB#RS and sent to Western coaches so he could get votes to be in the All-Star reserve - didn't get a lot of hype compared to Chris Bosh's crappy YouTube video campaign . An underrated PF averaging 23.6 ppg , 14.7 rbg is the best resume compared to the rest of Power Forwards in the West being selected in the All-Star ballot . I think he deserve to be there than Chris Bosh , IMO .

Samuel Dalembert - Another fellow Canadian and a Quebecois , like Steve Nash I have to vote for him . Although he's shown a decline - a sudden one in the 2008-09 season - he's still a one tough player . He improved his Defensive Rating to .101 from .105 in the last 2 seasons , I know it's still early to tell right now , but aside from Lowry , he's also valuable on the team with WP48 of .259 just under Lowry . Like the his teammate Lowry and fellow Canadian Nash , he also has NO CHANCE to be at the All-Star game . It's too obvious that Bynum , Cousins , Jordan , and Griffin are likely to be selected in the PF/C spot . As a legit bball fan , I support real hardwork by the players and their improvements and achievements deserve to be praised unlike others who only praise a player who produced great highlight reels that they'll drool over .

Isa lang kina James and Anthony ang maging starter kay parehas man ni sila na SF. Ang isa ka spot para na sa PF maybe someone like Garnett, Bosh, Boozer or Stoudemire. I'm sure James will be starting the SF spot, obviously he's more popular and better than Melo.

depends kinsa taas sa nila ug vote..... mao jud na starter...sa ila position...
