I have purchased a Spy Cam from this thread, for 750php.

I did some research because there are lots of clones of this type out there.

This is the site where I read some reviews.

I was hoping that this cam that is posted from this site is either #3 or the HD #11, as stated on her details that is posted in her thread.

I take note of the 720x480 which is fine for me, so I read on the review site. There are 7 types of 720x480... cross my finger and contact her, after an hour I got my 808 Camera.

I receive her text:



Hmmmmm... I was surprise with the "more than over night charging"....

When I got home, I was puzzled about the "more than over night charging." So I decide to open the camera, I don't care about warranty.

I gently open the gadget... and it pops out.. hmmmm something's not right..







And here it is... spot the changes...







The battery is bloated, like ticking time bomb about to be explode, I tried to touch the battery and gently squeeze it's like ready to pop out.

See the difference of this type of battery from normal and bloated.

This is normal Lithium Ion Polymer.


And this is the Bloated LiPo.







So I decide to contact again the seller and report my concern, I don't want to gamble my life and charge this battery more than overnight and wake up fried.

And the seller is very accommodating, she let me select another item.

So when I got home, I open the gadget again and decide to MOD it... The battery details from the manufacturer is 280mAh, but when I open it... it just 160mAh... It's not the sellers fault. So I went out again and look for replacement, some other moders are using cellphone batteries only has small mAh, so I decide for Nintendo DS battery which is slim, small and more juice.

And I found out, my camera is the #8 type from the review but this is V4. So I read some details.

:: MODS and Materials ::

- Kingston 8GB microSD HC Class 4 [320Php]- Class 4 at least, higher class is better, for faster memory accessing.
- USB Charger [60Php]- 500mAh charger for quick charging, compared to PC charging.
- Wide Angle (Fish Eye) Lens [80Php]- I need this because the camera is set to zoom.
- Mounting Tape [23Php]
- Nintendo DS 1000mAh 3.7v battery [300Php]- I need to replace the battery.

:: Modification Part 2: Tick-TaCam ::

I choose the Tick-Tac container because it is perfect to fit the camera, battery, and it is also flexible to press the buttons.

Materials:
- Your 808 Camera
- Nintendo DS Battery
- Soldering Lead
- Soldering Iron
- Small Philips Screw Driver
- Tick-Tack [Blue Container]
- Electrical Tape
- Tweezers
- Scissors
- Mounting Tape
- Cotton Buds


I transferred the contains of the Tick-Tac to another container.





Solder the camera battery wires.



Applying electrical tape to the camera board, I use electrical tape because it is not so sticky, and not damaging the components if I remove the tape, then add the mounting tape.







I made a hole under the Tick-Tack container, for the camera and microphone.

I add the cotton tube stick under board, so that I can press the buttons easily, because the cotton buds tube is hollow, flexible and it wont damage the IC.





And when it's done, you can easily slide in the camera and battery inside the container.



Don't forget to cut the container cover, so that you can close it.









Make a hole for the USB port.





Cover the camera with electrical tape, don't forget to make a tiny hole to the electrical tape.



Now it's done, you can clearly see the light indicator and can easily press the buttons.

likewise with the 8gb, how long does it go too?

Hmmm wala pako ka try ug 16GB, pwedi ra nimo dalhon ang cam sa palitanan ug memory and test it.. karon kay ni palit ko lain 8GB para e puli puli nako. Make sure lang taas iyang class (transfer rate).

what memory gamit nimo? because memory card quality does matter, kay continues writing man gud ni.

nag palit ko ron ug another type of memory kay usahay ingon ana pud ako pero di kaayo grabe.. kana sa sample video nako sa taas kingston 8gb microSD hc class 4 gamit nako ana, medyo mo freeze, same gi gamit nako sa akong xperia phone, karon naa nako new memory kingmax class 4 8gb pud, akong gi try sa akong phone walay freeze, pero wa pa nako ma try sa carkey cam nako. update ra tika.
