different topic: give chance to other registered photographers to take their shot, as with my experience last year, d ako mka shoot kasi yung ibang photogs most of the time nka dikit na sa queen, take 2-3 to 4 shots max then give chance to others.....

Until Jan 13 ang registration, but basin ma extend pa or ma close sayo depending sa availability sa slots. As I understand it, 2000 slots ang gi set but only 1500 of that para sa photogs. The rest for videographers and the media man siguro. As of now registered shooters are at around 1400 already...

last week when i asked sa tig-register (limot kos iya ngalan basta siya ra usa didto), available ID is 2k kabook and Friday kutob ang registration, they will stop the registration when it hits the mark but its also their prerogative to extend it, who knows... sila ra jud... better ask them and call this #254-7786

about sa t-shirt size, basin mag lisod kag pangita sa imo size kay dili baya tanan pareha lain2x baya... basta ang ako nakuha XL medyo sexy ko tan-awon (murag sako sa ganador)...

i think its already an old option to scan the ID material. its badly printed, and can easily be manipulated.
i know a couple guys resorted to scanning the ID. hell its even better since the ones scanning it uses pixma printers for output. lol
since the goal is only to get access, i dont see any reason why this can't happen again.

its possible this can happen again may tana if the id has security features like used on medicines and soap, but still mag depende pa jud na sa security sa pag identify sa fake ug dili....

then again... if there's a will, there is water este way diay!!

I think the most tactful thing to do is to report them to the SFI if anyone can spot a fake ID user so that they'll be reprimanded a year later (in 2013).

Registered fotogs should focus on framing and shooting making every minute count taking photos of unfolding events. It's a waste of time policing the ranks for fake fotogs when there are SFI-assigned personnel who are expected to this job. To use the in fairness cliche, I would put the blame on the SFI - not on ID counterfeiters if ever they can pass as registered fotogs.

in 2013 if tinuood ang pangagpas sa uban 1500 guro ang bayranan... then again the world ends this december..... hehehehehe

Registered members of photography clubs belonging to the Cebu Photo Alliance are issued patches so that they can be readily identified. Member clubs are expected to strictly police their own ranks and to follow the guidelines set by the SFI. One reason for this is to establish the reputation of the alliance so that we could be more convincing and have more influence on the foundation for future Sinulog negotiations. Sayang lang jud kay medyo late na na-establish ang alliance, talks with the SFI started only around November last year... Who knows, basin mapagamay pa diay nato ang registration next year? haha

It's less than a week before the big Sinulog bang. It's about time to think and prepare what to bring - aside from DSLR(s), required sponsor shirt or vest, SFI P1K IDs (genuine or scanned).

Weather forecast (rain or shine): Better be prepared with rain protector gears for your expensive DSLRs. The lighter the better. There's a cheap (P250 or less at Hidalgo Binondo shops) reusable rain sleeves (1 set 2 pcs) which are quite thin, light and covers long zoom lens. Photo stores should be stocking on these items considering it rains on Sinulog parades for the past several years. For your bald head, a light baseball cap would do along with light thin transparent raincoat - poncho type or with sleeves. If your a son or daughter of a druglord, politician, etc. with unlimited budget, The North Face outlets have premium waterproofing items.

Sweat and Perspiration: Even if it rains, we perspire. A long, light, towel scarf and face towels is a must. Bring also a good supply of water absorbing tissues to wipe camera body and lens housing and other necessities.

If one is planning to remain only in few strategic spots to take shots then a light one-step platform is in order. If one prefers to go mobile and rub lenses and elbows with fellow fotogs and contigent bouncers he should come in his lightest. A DSLR(s) and kit lens and 50mm prime in his light camera pouch or bag can make a fotog go long distances.

Extra t-shirts, skyflakes, mineral water bottles for thirst and bladder necessities, cotton jeans and light sneakers. First aid kit (band aids).

Considering it would be cloudy and overcast day, a light strobe or external flash is a plus factor. 4 gig SDHCs/CFs rather than 8 or 16 cards. Better to swap than to learn later your single 32 or 64 gig card croaked down the drain. It really depends on your experience with storage media.

Communication gear: If there's truth to the rumor cellphone signals will be blocked then bring along your old UHF/VHF radio and you can call home.
