Just finished updating. Finding the DXKL3 update really smooth. Won't root nalang. Will just wait for the official ICS update.

is there a clear difference between dxkl1 and dxkl3? wanting to upgrade but it's such a hassle to re install my apps again and having to wait for cf-root.

What are the advantages of rooting your android pud ba?
Ako thought lang sa rooting is to be able to install pirated apps, but it seems that without rooting, pwd raman gihapon maka DL ug *paid* apps free ra...

Enlighten me, thanks! Naglaway pud ko sa Note, and I want to push it to its limits also (but of course, this is risky thats why I want more knowledge.. thanks! feel free to PM me nalang pud kaysa mag post here)
I don't have a prior knowledge sa rooting I just spend some free time reading tutorials and guides from in the XDA developers forums. My suggestion is to go to Android Forums & Windows Phone Discussion @ xda-developers and search for the thread that pertains to your phone. Check out the posts in the General sub forum and then the Development sub forum for the roms, guides, rooting, and the like.

is there a way to restore it
or if after rooting is there a way to restore back to original ROM
just in case warranty requires it
You can use a program called Odin to restore a stock firmware. You can also use ClockworkMod if you have a prior installation on your phone to flash roms, and files. There are also workarounds (usb JIG, flashing methods) to reset the binary counters found in recent Samsung phones that counts how many times you have Flash your phone. All of these info are readily available at XDA forums. Android Forums & Windows Phone Discussion @ xda-developers

The main advantages of rooting is to give you root level access of your phone's operating system. It will allow you to modify system files for example. Also great tools and apps require root access. Take for example adfree an app that will block almost all ads on your phones browser when you surf the web, and sometimes block ads found inside apps, requires root so it can modify the phones host file changing and blocking the IP addresses that the ads use to connect to the localhost instead (block the incoming traffic from the ad server to your phone - hence ads will be missing = gone). Rooting also is required for backup apps like titanium backup - an app that backs-up all your apps, user and system level, including their settings and data to your SD card saving you time if you upgrade your firmware, install a new rom, etc.

There are alot more advantages in rooting however if by rooting you have access to your system root then malware has as well - if you allow it.

yes pwede ra ma balik tanan. Granting that you know what you are doing and you have the backups, stock roms, jig, and pc drivers that will allow you to remove and restore your phone.

First step is to learn how to go about it. XDA developers forums is a good place to start learning. You can't just dive in and figure it out as you go. You need to read up on much needed info.

If you are generally happy with your phone right now, and you have little interest in delving deeper into the technicalities that go into rooting or hacking your device in general, I would advice not to root or hack your device.

As long as the bootloader on the phone is fine I can easily restore the note back to its full factory condition, I can even remove traces of rooting

Anyway so I had my screen repalced ganina sa SM, Im not sure how long it took coz naa may naka una nako ug paayo ug note, Galaxy Si9003, 2pcs Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 but I got my phone back at around 6PM.. left it with then mga 2+

The replaced screen no longer shows ANY visible horizontal lines thats plagueing most HD SAMOLED screens ( including the G-Nexus, as per XDA user feedback ) but I lost the extremely great viewing angles that I had on my older screen, I now see a blueish tint when I view the screen from an angle with my previous screen there was absolutely no colorshift or what so ever even at the most extreme angles, but this is more acceptable since I dont really stare at my phones from non direct angles. Sayang lang but im happier with this screen. Probably pa ilis nasad ko 6-8 months from now when production quality goes up.
