India and Indonesia were tied at 112-112 after 12 arrows. Then India shot a strong 9-10-10-10-9-10 to take the lead 170-166. They did not let the victory go in the last end, 225-219. The Philippines No. 5 created another upset in quarterfinals, beating the No. 4 Mexico 53-53, 111-108, 167-163, 225-220.
The Philippines could not handle the favourite USA in the semifinal. They were tied at 56-56 in the first end, but the Americans then took the lead 114-111, 171-161 and 230-215. In the other semifinal Russia beat India 224-220.
The Philippines started their bronze medal match with scores of 10-9-9-9-10-9 to lead India 56-48. India shot well in the second end with 10-10-10-10-10-9 but still trailed 107-111. Then they trailed 163-165 and didn’t manage to reduce the gap in the last end. Victory 219-217 and bronze medal for the Philippines.
