Hopefully someone who is young and is not beholden to anyone, unlike to current city council, most of whom are beholden to one man. And please, nobody sick or old or recycled. Tomas was good but turned bad and is no longer healthy. If we bring him back, then we will get what we deserve. Alvin was indecisive and we could certainly do better. We can't properly judge Mike because Tommy is doing his darnest best to sabotage Mike.

Para sa mga ganahan nga mo balik si Tommy, do you honestly think what he is doing to Mike now is right? Is it good for Cebu? Is it fair? Or is it just part of a clear pattern of opportunistic self-interest?

Twice that Tommy was mayor and was not running for reelection, he supported partymates (first Alvin then Mike) whom he spoke very highly of and praised to high heavens. But the moment they showed any sign of going against his wishes, he does his best to demolish them and destroy their reputations. He even contradicts everything good he has said about them in the past. This are facts and not speculation or opinions and are born out and documented by newspaper reports from all local papers and are easily verifiable.

I don't think Tommy or Alvin or Mike of their age deserves to be our next mayor. We need someone young, dynamic, new, healthy and smart. We also need someone who is smart and makes sense.

Just my honest and unbiased opinion.......and I know many other unbiased istoryans agree with me on this.

champ, you have a very good point there. But the problem is who ?? you know how politics is, it's kinda like a dynasty. Garcia and Osmena are the biggest players with Rama entering the fro. But i don't think the cebuanos will trust their city with someone who's an "unknown".

I agree with you that Cebuanos may not trust their city with an "unkown". But we have to try to get past traditional political family names. I believe that the best people to run our city are successful businessmen. And I mean really successful businessmen and not those who want to go into politics to get a behest loan or get some contracts or other advantages. The only problem is that successful businessmen who are smart know better than to go into politics. Let's see how things play out in the next election. But to me, it may be better to gamble on someone who is smart but an "unknown" rather than someone who is either not smart or someone who is smart but is only after self interest.
