actually martial arts is a prize fighting sport nowadays, with the advent of pro muay thai heck theres even a WBC muay thai champion, although it is not where boxing is right now, but its going there, specially in the K1 organizations they try to proffesionalize it much that they appropriate the fighters enough to hold a living just doing kickboxing, buakaw, souwer, masato are paid enough that it guarantees them theyre future, also in the mma world some guys have transtioned to full spuer star proffesional status, ortiz for example gets his living out of his status as an mma fighter not that jenna jameson is his gf right now, some fighters do earn much like royce gracie in his fight with matt hughes was paid no less than 2 mil. its not boxing money yet but mma as a price fighting event is not more than 12-13 years old dating back to the 1st UFC, and fedor earns no less than 1.2 mil so its getting there. but the TMA i dont think they would go for money its more like the prestige theyre after the biggest thing a judoka for example can win in the judo world is the first the all-japan championship (theres a thing why some judo practitioners consider this as the real all world championship) then second would be olympics then 3rd would be the world championship, and there aint no money in those events, so other than muay thai or kickboxing and mma, martial arts as a whole will not get boxing money.
