Merry Christmas! who can help me identify the gender of my res. i bought them together about a year ago but ang usa kay mga 7 inches na then the other one kay 4 inches pa lang. I want to know their gender because I am planning to get serious in the hobby, especially if male and female ni sila. I am willing to bring the res to your place para makilatis gyud ninyo. Salamat.

you can just post the pics of ur turts. especially knang dapit sa head, claws, plastron, and tail. then, we can maybe identify their gender..
Coz a male RES has a more narrow head, long front claws, curved plastron, and the vent on its tail is lower (nearer to the tip of the tail).
While a female RES has a more broad head, short front claws, flat plastron, and the vent on it tail is higher (nearer to its shell; far from the tip of the tail).
And a female RES is always bigger than a male RES.

Thanks Hydrozam for the info. After watching the video it was not hard for me to determine the gender of the res. They are a pair, a male and a female. The four inches is the male. He has a longer nail on the front and the tail is longer. The 7 inches was a female with shorter nails and tail. Now my concern is what would be the best environment to breed them.

been lost almost two months after naka gawas sa iya tank...then abwt sa unsa gkapon i dont rily sure unsay g-kaon niya...but one for sure healthy man ghapon xa......

after i confirming the the gender of my two res, I transferred them to a bigger improvised tank. the water is five inches deep and they can now freely swim. i placed a basking area made up of piled up black stones. what was amusing was that I saw the male on top at the back of the female. they might be having *** he he. My assignment: to make research on how to hatch eggs. he he mayta ma successful ko.
