as simple as governing the people. i already said my part that democracy we had now is a double edge sword, yes we are liberated but people for the lack of good word, do abuse it like for example we have a right to protest, strike and rally. If we have a much stricter form of government we wouldnt be seeing people in the street protesting but yet we arent allowed to air our grievances.

Thats what I said it boils down to the government or at least to the politicians we elect. If people doesnt like protest in the street then maybe our government should make a law about it, but they should craft it in accordance to democracy that no right will be step upon seriously i have no idea how will they implement that lol.

i think you have skipped one important description of what our country is ought to be....a Republic. You may only hear democracy here and there and believe that defines the whole nation. Yes, democracy has a lot of flaws, especially undermining the rights of the minority because of the will of the majority... That's why we also stated that we are a republic, respecting the rights of the minority inspite of the will of the majority.

I don't believe the kind of discipline you are describing. I believe discipline should be left outside the context of government and into the circles of family, school and community. When a certain type of discipline is nationalized by the government to foster efficiency towards a goal, that is dictatorship. But dictators are usually backed by an influential few, therefore it is really an oligarchy that supports dictatorship. That is far worse than the inconveniences of too much liberty like the clashing of opinions, rallying and freedom of speech.

I am an advocate of Liberty as opposed to your dictatorial tendencies. Liberty is the highest form of political attainment. Tell me, what should be the role of the government for you?

i understand your concerns but im confuse why should we left out government or be not the center of our attention. I doubt such discipline can be attain in school, community, religious institution or in the family as you can see we got countrymen who cant even obey our laws of the government. what more to an institution(s) who cant enforce a much harsher punishment.

Lets not stray too far from the topic im sure people had a grab of knowledge of politics and the form of government , the TS asked why cant we understand each other? in my defense its human element to misunderstand, have conflict with one another, or their will be a constant clash of opinions it isnt just being Pinoy its present to anyone with a brain lol. Its the government job to keep us intact, to govern us, to set laws, to implement law, to punish the law breakers. Where we are now? its because of the government.

and dont confuse me i patronize dictatorship which part did i said that? i merely stating an example, of strict discipline rather than the freedom we had in this country. If people dont like they way people act right now that we are rallying for our grievances or trying to overthrew the current president that is our civil liberties.

discipline instilled through government is likened to the ways of hitler and stalin... The basic premise in that style of leadership is, man cannot progress on its own without their "divine" guidance, therefore, they are the anointed ones who can bring hope for their people, the very same mold of clay where they came from....

What gives authority for the existence of a government?

the filipinos can not behave accordingly to their own free will, can not take responsibility to their own actions, and can not stand on their own without assistance with the hegemons. there will be no exact liberty here. even if the gov't doesnt have discipline, the entire society, by utmost care, should not compete with the state. otherwise, the society is much greedier than the policies itself. there must be primordial ties first from it's ethnic groups.

^ then how different are you from hitler, lenin, stalin and theocracies? There is that flaw that someone has the power to mold the lives of other people by force...
