i've watched this but found it confusing to keep track of especially with its already muddled plot line regarding the origin of the shinrabanshō in miharu.
plus, the fact that i still find it disturbing that a yaoi relationship may in fact exist between miharu and yoite... but then again, i may be just imagining things.
hope this series gets some rejuvenating chapters in it.

Well, it is a bit confusing when you start comparing the manga and the anime. Some details about the plot are best understood in reading the manga. I've always gauged how good an anime is by also considering how well it was adapted from its manga origins.
I'm even afraid that it'll come to the point where filler chapters are made and subsequently 'inserted' into the anime (Rurouni Kenshin and Naruto had this annoying dilemma). The redeeming factor here is the pure and simple joy of watching how each manga panel unfolds into the anime frame by frame. Fanservice notwithstanding.

Miharu's character development is so slow and sucky at times that he's too meek and indecisive at the first few episodes.
The Shimizu sibling feud (and love) was what really hooked me effectively into reading the anime seeing as it is a rarity in manga plotlines - a feud story told from a female POV.
And yes, Aizawa-kun still rocks in my list of fictional ninjas. It's just that the series' release had to be ill-timed with Bleach (about swords and samurai-like characters) and Naruto (about ninjas) already earning whopping viewer percentages. Nabari no Ou simply pales in comparison. It would have been better if they had done the anime adaptation a bit later.

The series will get better and should garner a decent viewer percentage by late next year.
I hope that the studio that produced the anime, J.C. Staff, doesn't screw this up.

P.S. Ga-Rei: Zero had this problem too but it still rocked anyway since the action scenes were breathtaking.
