Oh well, for a president that has worked for 9 years as president. She has done a great job for the Philippines. If not for her corruption controversies she would've been the best if not one of the best president we have had so far. The Philippine economy ballooned from $80 billion upon here assuming of office after EDSA 2 to %189 billion nominal over all GDP. Income per-capita now stands at about $2,500. In her term came the emergence of the Philippines as the dominant player in the Outsourcing industry. With a compounded growth of 21% per year, the Philippine BPO Industry emerged as the third largest in the world after India and China. She boosted Philippine international trade and now we are enjoying surpluses and not deficits which was the case in the term of ERAP. The fiscal reforms and decentralization of the country resulted in the growth and emergence of cities and provinces outside Metropolitan Manila. Growth soon started to spread to the countryside and now many provinces have become more financially stable and less dependent on IRA because of the entry of investments in their communities. Examples of which would be Metro Cebu, Davao City, Cagayan de Oro, Ilo-Ilo, Dumaguete, Bacolod and many more beyond mention. These cities have now helped absorb the massive exodus of people from the farmlands to the cities and greatly spared Manila from choking in such a humongous population. People have started to flock in second tier and third tier cities like Cebu instead of Manila, income is now no longer dominated by MM but are slowly being shared by other Philippine provinces. Infrastructure spending also took its height during GMA's term, with infrastructure projects throughout the entire archipelago and to highlight, the Roll-on, Roll-off scheme or RO-RO transport which have greatly helped the mobility of people and goods form island to island. Farm-market roads helped a lot in easing the transport of good from the source to the markets. The stock market reached its highs on 2007 and 2010 at the height of the Global Financial Crisis that shook the foundations of the world's financial markets. And now with Greece leading the pact, the Western world fell into a recession that affected countries as far as Asia and Latin America. But then again, the Philippines is in a lot better position now thanks to GMA's reforms and efforts during her term.

To sum it all up, she was an economist and practically brought the country from rags to riches (at the very least) and established the foundation of a strong Philippine economy. But still, this does not exempt her from all the anomalies and controversies she is now facing and her ordeal now is but a result of her wrongdoings during her term.

The charges filed are non-bailable, so she should not be allowed to post bail.

On the other hand, I would rather that the case goes on and is fast tracked to arrived at its conclusion soonest. Let's see how the prosecutors present their case and how GMA defends it. Makita man jud ang katag ani ba. If the case is indeed strong and the evidences credible, then we can see from the defense whether they are indeed strong and credible, otherwise, the defense will use delaying tactics which I believe would be obvious. If however the case is weak and the evidences easily demolished, then those prosecuting are likely doing their job haphazardly or perhaps the defendant is indeed innocent.

Whatever the verdict will be, we will see justice served or denied and the people can act accordingly and then, and only then should the mob rule...
