blame this mentality to our ignorant forefathers who just rely on religion bay.. I'm not pinpointing any religion ha but AFAIK, that mentality came from a religious point of view that sees money us an access to evil.. but anyway, I hope our new generation could wake up na that this mentality is not good..


and besides god is not happy when he see his followers become poor.

it's sad to think that all these you've guys have mentioned will remain as IDEAS. We the ordinary people always thinks what's best to help each other prosper but those in power and who has the AUTHORITY ( government ) only thinks about how to fill their pockets.

there are already people who made their initiatives in helping their situation just like the NGO's.. but apparently most of the poor people are having a misplaced self-pride which is hard for them to help.. (dili magpatudlo ba kung baga)

let me just say outright that the urban poor are the most "ma-ru" among all the levels of poor people. So, giving in to mendicant behavior will only encourage them to think that people will always help people so they do not need to work their butts off for anything in this world.

To be fair, rich or poor everywhere else in the country, people still need to work. Yes, job opportunities are little in this country. It's very difficult to be a success if one does not GREASE THE WHEELS. Wlay grasa, wlay gana ang makinarya, so to speak.

So our lawmakers need to make more opportunities HERE, instead of merely relying on the job opportunities elsewhere around the world. It's just a matter of making more money, it's a matter of how much can a Filipino buy with one peso. Relying ALWAYS on the job opportunities abroad will further instill the cultuer of mendicancy among our poor people for generations to come.

They should not misconstrue the age old truth that "God will provide". it's always being taken so literally that it loses the true meaning of it.

The poverty is only but a consequence of the kind of government we have and the kind of economic system we have in placed. If a government believes in free trade, it would not be meddling with businesses and diving into their pockets constantly. That will really provide the kind of environment conducive for people taking much more responsibility with their own lives.... but what did we do? We make it hard for people to do business, we penalize those who profit more (honest success, and not through government assistance), and we set regulations that destroys the healthy competition that would have otherwise bring stability to the standards of living of the people, and it gives the responsibility back to the people's own choices.

Our government is a socialist democratic government... Any socialist idealism breeching into the system of governance will breed corruption..

hahaha.. dude there are fishes in the sea, fishes will never be lost in the sea, nag migrate lang siguro kay wala na makaon ang mga isda or ang dagat hugaw na ug walay kapuy-an para sa ila.

but going back to the topic u are right na daghan pud sa ato dili kabalo magdala sa finances that's why they become poor..
