    Default wireless router set-up question

Hi everyone! I'm wondering if someone would help me with my problem. I bought a cnet wireless router to connect to my PLDT DSL so I can access the internet through my laptop. I followed all the instructions in the manual including the network connections part and configuring the wireless router to the pc. My problem is it says, connected (both in the desktop and in the laptop) BUT I can't open a website, ANY website. What did I do wrong? I'm in dire need. Please help, anyone? Thanks!

after that, i can already connect to the internet.

hi spartacus, the connected thing was only refering to the connection from your laptop to your router. daghan ka considerations tanawon. like 1.) unsa nga klase nga dsl imo sa pldt? is it PPPOE or Static IP 2.) unsa config sa imong router sa lan ? is it dhcp? ako suggestion is this. check first if naa gyud ka connection sa dsl by connecting directly ang modem sa imo laptop or pc. if maka internet ka. then config your router. make sure na enter nimo ang tanan parameters like usename/passsword for pppoe or ip addresses, subnet mask, gateway and dns kung statis ip. then check kung naka dhcp config ka. once done adto sa imong laptop or pc, the lan should be connected. then type run, cmd, ipconfig. the router should give you an ip address like (192.168.10.100). you should be connected to the internet na. kung dili ka connected isolate it phase by phase. ping your ip, kung okay, ping your gateway (this is the ip address of your router) kung okay , ping the dns (this is comming from the provider) or any website. tanawa kung asa mag rto, dha nimo tanawon ang problema basin naa lang ka na mis configure nga dili cya ka lusot sa internet. usually sa configuration na cya, like wala na resolve ang dns...hope this could be of help .. thanks

Put the IP address of the gateway which is the ip address of your cnet wireless router and also the DNS address in your wireless network at your laptop. Mostly 192.168.1.1 if browsing a web page is your problem.

what do you mean by set automatically... sharing internet connection trough wireless router requires advance knowledge. and if can be, assistance from experienced users.
