Getting rid of corruption is one way of getting rid of poverty here in our country.
@chris

That's a value that can be learn thru someone na ato gitan-aw as role model regardless kung wala kay education or niadto man lang ug elementary skul.. take a look at manny pacquiao dude.. naa bay nag educate sa iya what is boxing at the start?? Nitan-aw lang na sya sa mga boxing competition ug nag watch lang sa tv taz apil2X ug dula ana hantud sa naging professional.. now look at him..bago sya naka enrol ug ALS system sa DepEd nakatukod na sya ug mga mansion sa gensan and most of all sikat pa sya sa ato!!
Tan-awa nang mga Ifugao sa Luzon, wala man nagtudlo sa ila kung unsaon paghimo anang banawe rice terraces ug pagbuhat ug irrigation uphill.. wala pud sila gitudluan sa eskwelahan ana unsaon pag landscape sa mga mountains into rice granary and yet ang banawe rice terraces na belong sauna sa one of the 7 wonders of the world..
pwede man ka maging edukado tapos tamad ka ug ugali di ba? daghan man pud ka nakaila ug estudyante nga tamad pud siguro di ba unya nag eskwela sa mga reputable institution?
someone has to educate us from the start because education is a prerequisite.. tama ka on this point.. but kinsa man ang mag start? our educational system gane is corrupted, so what can u expect to be taught from people na gitudlo sa ila from the start is corruption in many forms pud...
I respect your belief in education and I am not against it..but u must understand that our education can't be relied as a solution.. because as what emow said if u read his posts, and if u believe him also ,even our educational system is a failed one..
u forgot to mention na dapat kabalo pud mag SELL and mga bata karun.. Selling is a skill that requires discovery of initiatives (Diskarte ba kung baga. hehe) dapat unta tudluan ang mga bata nato ani arun mas madevelop nila ang ila confidence kay para sa ako man gud.. the highest level of gaining confidence is how you sell whether it may be your skill or your product..
good. sakto sad part selling sad nato madevelop ang entrepreneuship skills. bai my father was a member before sa NGO nya ako uban uban ato..mao sad ni amo focus sa rural areas like agribusiness pero mag lisod mi kay usahay ang local government walay paki. makalagot. ayha ra makig lambigit kung hapit na election...
anyways kanang problema sa edukasyon duhay tan-awon ana. una shorterm ug long term solution. kung unsay priority pina sigo sa budget sa DBM diha mag base ang programa..dili man ko against anang idealistic nga approach towards education kay philosophically dugay rang hiwi, pero mas hiwi kaayo kung mao nay una buhaton nga mismo ang tulo nga atop (roof) sa class room malimtan na hinoon...

it seems that u misunderstood my point when I say our youth's should learn the skill of selling..
When our youth's learn how to to do selling sugod hi-skul pa lang which I believe kaya na sa ilang maturity, whether it may be selling their skill or their product they can save enough money as savings for them to start a new one or save it for their future use.. I am not pointing that when we will teach them the art of selling we need the help of government just to support them..although ok gud nga naay support sa government but as much as possible inculcate it to them to practice the art of selling self-reliantly..
I am also pointing here that para ma develop ila confidence they must achieve to get the art of selling successfully kay lisod pud bya na buhaton di ba? daghan bya di kabalo magbaligya run maski kita mga adults na nga mao bya na unta ang key arun muasenso sa negosyo.. and secondly, dira na mugawas sa picture ang imo ginatawag na basic financial management.. hehe.
Again, I have to repeat this: Education is ONE of the solutions I never said it is an EXCLUSIVE solution.
As for pacman, the guy is a tool bro and he is a bad example of whatever point it is you are trying to make.
Manny is just a bad example on all levels and embodies that mindset of why we as a nation are a failure. Sa mga pacman fans diha bear with me in this explanation.
I claim he is a bad example because he tries to project to the Filipino culture (just like any celebrity) that you can get what you want the "easy way". This brings me to one attitude that was never discussed in this thread: Most Filipinos will never succeed and the rest stay in poverty because they think that wealth and success can be done the easy way. In effect, by DOING NOTHING.
Why do you think LOTTO is such a good business here? Because our culture tells us just like Pacman that you can be rich without really trying.
So unsay resulta ana? Magsige taya sa lotto? Magboxing nalang ta tanan ani? Pilay success rate sa boxing? So far only 5-10 Filipino boxers are popular. How many Filipinos are there? 80 million? so 1:80 million probability of being a successful boxer is not a reasonable odds. Unsa man mahitabo sa 79M filipinos who aren't multi-million dollar boxers? Starve to death?
While it can be argued that Manny Pacquiao is hardworking the rest is just for show. He is a tool. A future political puppet. It won't be long before he runs for president.
This is wrong. This is a very poor formula for success.
As a responsible person you must understand that there are no shortcuts ni life. Kugi lang gyud ta. Sama pa sa saying: Be honest if even if others are not. Even if others cannot.
dude u dont really get my point do you?
I am not also implying that our education is an exclusive solution.. all I'm implying to you there is that kung kanang education ang mahimo nato nga isa sa solution is dili gihapon epektibo na makasulbad sa ato kalisod.. kay kung tinood man na education is the key to success e di kana unta mga teachers nato datu na ug dili baon sa mga utang.. Like emow said our education is a failed one and it's not a good one to start with as a solution.. gets na ko nimo diri nga part??
secondly, giunsa man nimo pagsabot ako example kay manny pacquaio ui nga nahimo na man nuon sya bad example sa imo in general? dude, do u really understand my point on why education is a least solution for me??
Manny pacquaio is painstakingly do boxing job not just to fulfill his dreams and to make his family's condition better.. but also to become an educated person once he become successful in his chosen endeavor.. I already posted to you twice that even at the peak of his successful career in boxing he still educate himself by entering into DepEd programs such as ALS system ug wala niya gi set-aside ang education.. bisan bya dude nga nakasulod na syag politika nieskwela pa bya sya ug AB Political Science sa Notre Dame of Dadiangas University para makabalo pa sya ug maayo sa politics.. I think u should research more on manny pacquiao as you become judgmental on him.
You are talking about formula of success and you make manny pacquiao as a bad example of your success formula? wala ka nagkamali ug formulate ana?
manny pacquaio is a living example na imo giingon nga ignorant pero nakaeskwela while doing his job.. we may not necessarily to follow pacquaio's steps by entering into boxing for a good fortune but rather serves as an inspiration that even just a boxer u can be successful and get what u want.. U can be a carpenter and become successful di ba? u can be streetvendor and become successful di ba? and most of all u can be a celebrity and be successful and then go to school to educate yourself.. Isn't that what steven spielbierg and sharon cuneta do when they become successful? they are even celebrities and there is nothing wrong with it..
