    i've been a customer a lot of times.. and i've talked to countless agents.. and wala jd ko pasensya if i know that he/she doesn't know what he/she is doing.. naay ka usa nga g-hang up-an nko while nag istorya xa kay g-tuyok2x lang kog explain.. libog kau..

    @jugs, yeah there are agents like that. specially the new one's.

    Even agents working in a call center are customers MOST OF THE TIME. They know how it would feel to be in the customer's shoes. The thing there is that the world seems different when you're on a phone with a customer. Some call center agents are just already used to the yelling and nagging of customers that they don't care anymore. Why? Because they don't take all those hurting words personally. I'm not saying that it's right not to care. What I'm saying is that it's all up to agent on how he/she would take it -- positively or negatively. And from there, a molding process would take place.

    Customers are angry at the service and at the company...NOT at the agent. But since the agent is the only channel between the customer and the company, then the agent would take all the venting and yelling. And yes, SOME call center agents don't know what they're doing that's why they just look for the easiest workaround to get their customers' issues resolved quickly. That is not good customer service.

    This statement summarizes it all. If you were born dumb, then you will always be dumb unless you have the motive and initiative to learn. If you are smart, then you must pick up easily and you may have an advantage or the edge above others. Learning is a very important part of life and in EVERY CALL CENTER, experiential learning is a BIG PART of it. Ergo, working in a call center DOES NOT make one person dumb. It is THE PERSON himself/herself that makes him/her dumb.

    ^^ correct @ Glassmoon. you can't say that any better. i'm quite used to handling irate complainant over the phone at my job. if our call centers do not do their job right at that level, naturally customers complain to a higher level. they go to the top. we get the ramblings. Always keep in mind that no matter how irritating, no matter how it makes you feel like hanging up the phone on them or putting them on hold forever, put yourself in a customer's shoes and see how frustrating that can be. They're paying for the product or service, and they expect things to be running smoothly and wherever you go nowadays, customer service is the number 1 thing people consider and its very important. As a customer at my end, how many times have i been givin the runaround with tech support, etc. and i have to explain my problem to them repeatedly same explanation from one person to the next and being transferred in the wrong support department and my call being bounced back again and my issue not being resolved. It is very frustrating much more tiring to keep repeating myself to different support people and my call getting lost in transit unresolved. That already includes the hold time as well. Very, very frustrating.

    Your job working in a call center is continued learning with the different nature/issues presented to you. You represent the company you work for products and services included. That is the nature of your job and you were hired for that. As in all jobs, you can't help it sometimes there will be other duties as assigned that is not in your job description. Dont gripe about it but consider it an opportunity for you to learn and grow outside of your scope. And that's how you ought to look at your job. The more pessimistic you become the more unchallenging it becomes. Its all about attitude. If you are not happy with your job, the door is open for you to walk out and find something better.

    i guess ronna and i (coincidentally i am ron) had a bad start. i was just feeling depressed that day i first quoted ronna.
    for the wrongful insinuations i declared, ronna im sorry,
    for the truths, who cares.
    i was just a bit surprised when u called me tanga. anyway peace. ok.
    weve worked in the same industry. we know better.
    so, from now on i will stop dissing call centers.
