mga boss. dako improvement sa fuly synthetic na oil like mobil 1 compared sa kanang tag 700 na castrol gtx?
ask lng ta ko is it worth it kay almost 5 times ang price niya. do i get a better fuel consumption and at thesame time better performance with mobil oils? nka cold air intake nko then 4-1 headers. tnx.

What is important is that you have the correct viscosity oil as recommended by the manufacturer. Next any reputable oil brand with the correct viscosity is good.

Synthetic or mineral? Depends on your application. Synthetic definittelly is better as it is more stable at high oil temperature as compared to mineral oil.
But if you just drive slow and do not bring your revs up all the time and therefore you are not bringing your oil temps up then i would rather use mineral oil, considering the price difference. BUT if you keep on driving hard then synthetic is the way to go.

The engines oil system has been designed by the manufacturer to run on a specific oil viscosity. To thin than recommended will give you slightly lower oil pressure to thick than recommended will give you slightly higher oil pressure BUT less volume and therefore not good.

At group b we use castrol magnatec for our everyday cars, this is a reasonably priced semi-sythetic oil and HKS super oils for our high performance turbo cars.

To summarize:

1. always use the proper manufacturer recommended viscosity
2. synthetic is more stable than mineral BUT the real benefits of sythetic can only be seen if you keep on driving hard or if you have a high performance engine, for normal driving and normal engines, taking price into consideration it is really ok to use a reputable brand mineral or semi synthetic oil.
3. a good quality oil filter is very important, more important than the oil. cheap imitation filters will not flow enough oil to your engine as it is very restrictive.
