Default The Lost Room - a 6-hour mini-series of Sci Fi Channel

Holy crap! I just saw this last night! I couldn't follow it as much as i wanted to (i had to do stuff around the house) so i was a little confused. I know that guy lost his daughter (dont know why), he has a key that lets him enter that room, there was a schizo guy with a magic comb, theres that girl from ER, now theres a box of some sort, and someone is chasing after them. I think i'll have to watch more of this to really understand it.

And Yes I love The X-Files! (except when Doggett and Reyes showed up)

If your a fan of Lost you just might like The Lost Room too.

@blur: I think they're showing it again tonight on Sci-Fi... gaatang pud ko I dunno what time. They're probably going to replay the whole mini-series.. you should watch it from the beginning. Although reviews say the ending seemed unsatisfactory.. they're probably leaving some opening to make it a regular series. They replayed the whole thing again last night around 9pm, what time did you watch man diay?

They're showing it right now pero balik na pud a few episodes back from yesterday's.

Anyways let me just tell you a little about the beginning I guess in my own ways ha. The detective named Joe got hold of a hotel key #10 from a young boy who was a witness to a crime. The crime happened at hmm some restaurant or something I forgot.. two men were burned like they were electricuted... one was laying on the floor and the other was pinned up the ceiling. Strangely their clothes didn't burn but just their flesh.

Detective Joe Miller and his partner pursued the boy who witnessed that crime and saw him at an alley. Strangely that boy went inside a room with a bright yellow light. When Joe opened the door there was nothing there but a small empty room and the boy disappeared.

Didn't take long Joe Miller finally caught that boy and brought him to the station for interrogation. With key still in hand the boy opened a door and disappeared. (Hmmm now how did that happen? I forgot too hehehe probably was distracted) but anyways... Miller surveyed and studied their surveilance camera and saw how the boy opened the door and didn't come out the other end. So the boy got away.

Apparently there were bad guys with goons pursuing that boy too... they wanted the key. He finally got shot twice but still made it into a room and appeared at Joe Miller's house. Dying and said something to the detective about the key saying hmmm... like don't let them get a hold of this key and died.

So Detective Miller, greatly puzzled at why and how, he used the key to open a closet door inside his house. It took him to a yellow-lighted or painted hotel room, it looked old. He went inside and looked around. He gazed outside the room and it was very quite outside... it was actually in New Mexico. After checking the room he got a hold of the door knob where he entered and muttered "home" and when he opened the door it was inside his house again.

The next day, he was cooking breakfast with his daughter (who happens to be dakota fanning's younger sister) and his daughter said she needs to go get something (I forgot) but he looked at the table where he laid the hotel room key and it was gone. To make the story short his daughter used the key and showed him how her toys disappear inside the room, that's what she said. She showed him... opened the door with the key... laid one of her stuffed toys on the floor... came back out with the key in hand... opened the door again with the key and the toy was gone. The spookiest scene here is she took off all the covers off the bed and laid it on the floor (if i remember it right) and when she opened it again the covers were put on the bed perfectly.

If an item is inside that room without the key inside the room it resets and the item disappears.

And so eventually the bad guys then knew that the detective has the key... went and kidnapped his daughter... met somewhere to trade her for the key... things went wrong he was gonna die anyways so he fought... his girl grabbed the key and ran... bad guy follows her.. she used it to open the door... bad guy snatched the key from her... daddy comes in and fought him... and tada! the door accidentally closed with Joe holding the key in his hand outside the door. Therefore resetting his daughter who was inside... she was gone!

The crazy spooky thing about that room was that something happened there in the 1960's. The hotel room key is one of the objects in that hotel room at that time which happened to have transformed into magical objects that does great things. The hotel key (which is considered the most important or powerful) can be used to open a door to anyplace in the world in mind. Showed up with his partner at a football game... opened a cottage door at a beach... and anywhere. (I would wanna have that key to go back and forth pinas in an instant hehe) The comb... when used on the hair.... freezes everything for a few seconds. The pen... which was used to commit that crime at the opening of the story... burns flesh to charcoal in an instant when clicked on the skin... and many other objects are still out for Joe Miller in search for the prime object that controls all objects to figure out a way to bring his daughter back.

His partner who's been to that room with him and knew about it got shot by another of their collegue who got interested in getting that room key... Miller losing his daughter while he's on a custody battle with his ex-wife... certain groups wanting to collect all objects to permanently destroy them and another group called the order who are collecting all objects thinking that when they're all complete they can talk to God... hmm I missed out the bus ticket etc but basically the story goes like this.

What happened at room #10 in the 1960's at route 66 in New Mexico. Much more to see.
