Went window shopping for phones..... the Galaxy Note's 5.3" AMOLED screen is amazing! very comfortable thumb typing when browsing the web.
I would say that this is the ideal phone IF (and that's a big IF) it fits your pocket... Since i'm used to wearing baggy jeans... it fits me just fine...
It's thinness and weight actually compensates for its size when inside your pocket. I was really surprised with how light the device was and it was not as big and unwieldy as I thought...
I've owned HP Pocket Pc's before, bought a Viliv S5 UMPC and even tried out my mom's Iphone3GS/Galaxy SII and my sis's Iphone 4. I'm currently using an old 3110c and Ipad2 ... i believe this device combines all the functionality from all the items mentioned above.
The most important thing for me is the screen (AMOLED) and the resolution 800x1280 which will make browsing the web a joy. The 2nd most important thing is that it is just big enough to fit in my pocket (Galaxy Tab 7 is wayy to big) ... however functional a device is, it's useless if you find it too big to bring around... so I can say that it will be very useful.
I don't expect to see usable phones get any bigger than 5.3" (unless they release foldable AMOLED displays)
With the Galaxy Note, i can ditch the 4 yr old 3110c and my wife can have the Ipad 2 all to herself.
The only issue now is the price.... 35,990 in Ayala... 33k + here in cebu and 29-30k in manila... I think ill go with the 33k 0% interest as long as I won't have problems with warranty.
On a side note... .was also able to check out the Nokia N9 (actually waiting for the Lumia 800) which is the same thing with a few features taken out... I would have to say that of all the phones on the market... i really like the build quality of the N9/N800. You really won't be able to appreciate the device until you hold it in your hands.. Sadly the N800 doesnt have a front facing camera, only has 480x800 resolution.. has a smaller screen than the N9 and the Windows Phone OS still lacks support from 3rd party developers. The only thing that's keeping me interested is the Nokia Drive software and the Nokia Music/Radio service... Price for the N9 was at 23-24k
I'm not decided yet.. but I'm currently leaning towards the Galaxy Note
i think I would hold off tingali sa when Sammy would ultimately release the official ICS on their smartphone products, notably the Note and S2...
Kidding aside, most of the personal reviews I encountered, thru friend's review experience, they all conclude that the Note is a Laggy device.
What is good on a 5.3" screen when the stock OS can't deliver the utmost performance you need... e.g. browsing web pages or true multi tasking things...
the only good point I can mention in getting a note would be for movie viewing.. but then again, why would you buy a phone just to watch a movie on it... when you can buy a tablet (with 3g+wifi) to watch the same movie.
The Note is just a mix bag of something out of anything....
imo lang...
paytera ani...
reserved one on the first day it arrived, pero gihatag sa lain, then another day reserved again this time from other shop again it went to other hands. but i was able to try test a demo unit from a third shop compare it with my sgs2 found that sgs2 is smoothr in operation. I think pass lang ko ani, maybe next year nlang for S3.
damn, mga kanus.a kaha moabot ang s3 ? any estimated idea ?
I wonder if this still has the yellow banding on the left side, but im guessing not coz dli man SAMOLED Plus.
What store naai demo unit ani, I asked Samsung sa SM and Ayala they said wala pa sila mo give out ug demo units probably next week pa but maka open and check raman sa stocks on hand, problem is walay stock mga tindahan. Mahal pud 35k
