    actually handcoding is all ego ^____^

    what matters is the output. executives dont ask you what you used in making the website. you dont ask a carpenter what brand of hammer hes gonna use to build your house.... ^____^

    @flashfreak i agree lol

    anyway whatever gets the work done then do it, it doesnt matter if its hardcoded or with design tools. just get it done ontime

    you dont want to create a 10x10 table through hardcoding! when you can simply input 10c and 10r on a design tool like dreamweaver.. LOL

    Actually, here in the States especially companies that serve their own clientele's websites prefer to hire web developers who are good at handcoding and I think that goes to any other company wherever it is. But I agree with you when it comes freelanceship cguro. Naa bay word? Teheh.

    although im not from the states, and im not an employer. but if i was, i would also hire pple who knows how to hardcode html at least i know, that he knows what he is doing not just drawing random squares on a wysiwyg design tool

    so are you like hardcore text Editor user? or do you also use tool like dreamweaver at work?.

    In a discussion where terminology can mean a world of difference ... the point isn't the same to people participating in the discussion. You are used to it, but a forum isn't really about talking to yourself now is it? Sorry lolo ha!?

    Comparing code to building tools isn't really a very accurate way of putting things.

    Yeah IDE != WYSIWYG Editor, there's a world of difference . Visual Studio (or Eclipse) != Frontpage.

    Uhm, no, just no. Sure clients don't care about what's underneath the hood, but maintaining the mess of code that these editors spit out is hell. Handcoding allows the designer / dev to have clean code, finetune and customize each element, be platform independent (WYSIWYG editors don't generally play nice with each other), and know how things work. To some knowing how things work might not matter so much, but the total control that you have over your pages and the maintainable, extendable code you get from it should be enough reason to learn to design with code.
