@alkido: no monthly. Ikaw ra mag bo-ot when ka mag add pero mas maayo frequent para maanad kag save. Initial deposit is 5K sa FAMI. Naa daghan nag offer mutual funds. Check this site Investment Company Association of the Philippines for a start

ang link is just to give you list of companies. You can search sa google sa kana na mga companies para ma kita nimo tagsa2x nila ka website. Pwede ra pud ka moduol sa offices sa philam ug sunlife. Pero sa fami and others adto na Manila. Mas maayo makig meet ka sa mga taga IMG diri sa thread kay broker man na sila sa halos tanan companies.

for your first query - per my experience ( I have helped my 5 friends who open account in FAMi under me) at least 2 weeks but mostly more than 2 weeks.
for your last query - I would suggest you open an account under PhilEquity because they are now using scripless, they will send to your email account your confirmation letter but they send also a hard copy. in case you really want FAMI and in regards to your query, you can monitor your funds by requesting someone you know here in phils to send you a scanned copy of your confirmation letter(the letter will be coming from the broker). in depositing your contribution, again you need someone here in phils to deposit it.

an average of 15% to 20% in the long term is achievable.
walay office ang FAMI ug Philequity sa Cebu.
They partnered with IMG for brokers.
Less cost for them(no office, no staff, no need to train), so same ra gihapon ang fees if mo agi ka ug broker from IMG.

mao jud na gisuggest bro... save monthly.
mas sayon and you dont have to worry about market timing.
as long as long term jud imo investment. bali ang imo kwarta gibutang wa kay plano gamiton in the next 5 or 10 years or more.

ang challenge lang kay how to make yourself save monthly samot na kung dili pa habit.

so requirement jud ni ang monthly hulogan? what if maka laktaw ka? matabla na imohang gi "invest"? also, unsaon man pag redeem ani let's say after 10 years? parehas ra ni sa bank nga "i-withdraw" ra after 10 years?
