My point is not that Israel should exist or not. The Partition gave a majority of the land (56% of Palestine) to the Jews (which legally owned 7% prior to the partition)--It is understandable why the Arabs have this resentment. You couple that with the 'use of force' by the Israelis to evict and displace the Palestinian Arabs...the occupation of Golan Heights and West Bank ain't helping either.

What I'm pointing out is that it has other options to settle its neighbors, not just war. Not every Arab nations is hellbent on destroying Israel, look at Jordan and Egypt.

There was civil war and both sides used force. Still the Palestinians delivered the first blow when they ambushed an Israeli bus killing several Jews.

Golan Heights was occupied for security reasons and it is quite reasonable, from the Israeli perspective, to occupy it. As for the West Bank, Israel probably have not occupied it if there she was not attacked. I would say they are opportunist. They want it but could not have it at first then came an opportunity and they grabbed it. I would agree though that they could choose another option but dealing with the Palestinians I guess is as difficult as dealing with the MILF

It's not impossible for Israel to sue for peace with Iran.

It is unless Iran change their stance.

Let's not assume that build up as "starting it", because both sides have declared that as casus belli

1967 - Israel started.

1973- Egypt and Syria started it.

and they are illegal occupations, the U.N. does not acknowledge the Israeli administration and has issued resolutions that state the acquisition of those territories, though justified at the time of war (for self-defense), the retention of those territories up until now, is unjustified. Under the UN Charter there can lawfully be no territorial gains from war, even by a state acting in self-defense...Ottomans? point to me in a modern map where it says "The Ottoman Empire".
