do any of you guys use probiotics for your pets?

i am a vet and i have tried the probiotics on my dog as well as certain cases i've had; the tricky part is knowing when to use the probiotics and when to see the vet... if the dog' stomach is a little upset or has been taking antibiotics or the like for too long then probiotics can be beneficial .. on the other hand if the dog is with blood in the stool or has had the diarrhea for 3 days or more then GO SEE THE VET. .. in fact it would be better to get your vets opinion on whther or not your pet can benefit from probiotics

thanks for the input.. so its better to consult the doc before giving any? so we don't have to give it on a regular basis? can i ask what kind of probiotics you're giving to your dog? i know some who've been giving lactovitale/lactopafi on their dogs who're on barf diets.. sorry for all the questions, im just curious..

for barf dits then its recommended as the raw food can have an effe=ct on the normmal flora of the dogs.. i.e its part of the ingredients of barf to make it balanced.....
as for the type to give any probiotic will do... we usually recomend yakult because its sweet and most ogs will drink it without a problem.
you dont hve to give it on a regular basis but every once in a while its ok ....

ako i give probiotics to my dog at least once or twice a week. ako lang i sagol sa water nga iya imnun. i haven't seen any bad effects. very healthy ang akong dog.
