For me, the gist is: Don't work for money, let money work for you. How? Read the book.

Seems interesting. Mind sharing the general concept of the author and it's main arguments? I don't think I'll have the time to read this one soon. Just started Grisham's The Innocent Man.

its basically a book on the reason why even if you are the most hard working person in the world, your still in debt, and not financially free aka doesnt need to work for money. It has other things to emphasize like about the current educational system, as well as good spending habits and planning.

It is a very good read but it will be upto you if you will embrace all the ideals immediately. Ive embraced some and its working well, although it will be a very long time before I embrace them all because Im not yet in business.

in the book, kiyosaki tries to simplify financial language, hence we have:

asset = a thing that puts money into your pocket
liability = a thing that takes money out of your pocket (and he considers a house a liability)

    the 4 quadrants:
employed = working for someone else
    self-employed = working for yourself
in business = having people work for you
investor = either as an outside investor or insider investor (the ultimate investor)

    therefore, he encourages us to:
    *buy assets instead of liabilities
*switch quadrants (if the timing is right)

    hope that helps

    Rich Dad’s Words of Wisdom

    • You are what you Think.
    • A job is a short-term solution to a long-term problem.
    • A highly paid slave is still a slave.
    • Why climb the corporate ladder when you can own the ladder?

    Good Thinking:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Robert Frost, from ‘The Road Not Taken’
