    1. The Military are going to serve a warrant to an MILF commander.

I would advise you not to circulate the link of that video kay mahimo na noon kang instrumento sa propaganda sa mga MILF.

a bullet presentation, i think, would not give justice to it. i would beg some patience from you and suggest you read these articles to get more or less a historical context of the entire movement.

1.) was this served with the knowledge of the negotiating team, and at the same time the MILF command, to make sure that contingencies such as these will have the MILF command responsible?

the mere fact that the AFP cannot point directly to the MILF command as the one directly responsible for the ambush suggests that the operation was clandestinely done without the knowledge of the negotiating team. hence the inquiries of where the AFP went wrong. it's quite clear as a bell.

2.) true, because this is usually the case. the MILF is a loose organization of rebel commanders with blood relations everywhere. i will not be surprised that an MILF commander might be somehow related to a member of the Abu Sayyaf.

in any event such as what happened, the MILF will automatically disown that commander, to save the prestige and the bargaining position of the organization. the challenge for the GRP in this aspect is to persuade the MILF to police its own ranks, something that might almost be logistically impossible since their troops are scattered all over the place with the AFP lurking everywhere.

3.) this is the reason why there are peace talks, to begin with; to look for common grounds of discussion and settle on a compromise agreement. if you only focus on your interest, then the entire peace process is most definitely unfair. and this is the reason why people would rather go to war.

That's exactly why I was reserved to post the link, I was just in query whether anybody else stumbled upon that video because it came out in relative span to the incident in Basilan--I do not know the original uploader but I have already flagged the video.

    Thanks.

A similar video came out right around the time when our Marines were beheaded last year. Since it was posted in the internet, it spread pretty quickly but good thing our own Filipino soldiers who also frequent forums helped stop the spreading by contacting the uploaders and requesting them to take down the video.

Several copies even reached 2 American military forums but they knew exactly what to do before other members had the chance to view it.

correct. you could not have said it any better.

the have given peace a chance by accepting ARMM as a compromise, but it did not work as it became a tool for the national government to subjugate the Bangsamoro through warlord politicians. what then was the point of talking peace if the other party not only could not deliver its promises, but tries to legitimize its subjugation that way?

again if GRP is still intent on retaining the entire Mindanao under its fold in the current political and constitutional context, it has to reimagine ARMM into something that the Bangsamoro can accept, free from the influence of the warlords that the GRP treats as pets.

a number of people say it's too late for something of this sort to happen. but we will see the administration's next move.

question: where is MILF leadership in ARMM? is MILF a part of ARMM?
