yes, but i bet they will be filled out sooner with more bodies of soldiers dying from an all-out war.
balik2x ta ani Ginaingon nas mga Secessionist nga dili ARMM but indepence, if kana ang demand sa MILF then any peacetalk is a futility ... Iqbal added the issue concerning the demand for a substate “cannot be solved without a Constitutional amendment.”

The MILF said that its leadership sees the government’s peace draft proposal as basically a rehashed version of the ARMM.

The ARMM had been regarded by past government officials and the MILF as a failed experiment in self-governance.

ARMM, as its name implies is suppose to be a measure self-governance of these region under the aegis of the Philippine state. what rendered it "not acceptable" is the fact that it did not work simply because old families were the ones who dominated the region under patronage politics. no significant development was seen in the region for the past few decades.

what many of us fail to understand is that the failure of ARMM is a failure brought by class politics within the Bangsamoro people themselves, propped up by the class politics of the national government. the Ampatuans-Arroyo partnership among others in the region are prime examples of this.

the MILF sees that by severing ties with the national government, they can better bargain against the warlord politicians, politically speaking, and establish something substantial as the umbilical cord that strengthen these warlord politicians is already cut off.

    the real challenge now is this to show how ARMM can still work through;

    • challenging the power/disarming of the warlord/political clans
    • monitoring infrastructure/industrial development
    • genuine elections
    • social welfare/education
    • employment

if this administration can show a convincing and realistic action plan under the aegis of ARMM, as an alternative for a sub-state, then we have a chance at peace.

According to then self-Governance and Self-Rule is a Different Story .... What you mentioned are the Government side of the story pero dili na sila mo kagat ana im sure ...

Bangsamoro people will not accept a political settlement that is only for integration to the unitary political set-up of the Government of the Philippines.

    Gusto nila is Self-Rule ....

nice discussion guys. just wondering if our government were able to settle the issue with mnlf before, is it also possible to have an peaceful agreement with the milf? i mean were the demands of nur misuari's group not the same with murad's group? i'm not from mindanao but like the majority of us i also wish for peace in the land of promise.

of course they wont accept it. if you have suffered through ineffective and lip service autonomy for the past few decades, knowing that this government is hard to go through basic reforms, but easy to grandstand and annihilate entire peoples and their grievances through war, who would want it?

the challenge is sincerity with proposed alternatives to a sub-state. can noynoy or any other administration give it, are they willing to give it, that would be the big question.

this is why from the very beginning, as i have mentioned, the issue of peace talks is very sensitive and nuanced. you should know the position of your counterpart and you have to impress that fact to them, as well as the fact that you have a position about matters, and your counterpart should know where you are coming from as well.

i also have some problems with federalism as it only addresses the imbalance of power between a region vis-a-vis the national government based in manila. what it does not address is the imbalance of power between political clans/dynasties, who also happens to be gun-totting warlords, vis-a-vis local population.

imposing federalism in areas with political clans such as these would simply strengthen their position as the resources/power of that region will be funneled down their favor.

this was precisely what happened when ARMM was instituted, and the Bangsamoro people rejected through MILF.

imagine the same thing happening to Cebu with its entrenched political clans. good luck.

    dili sila pwede sa ICC?
Because Noynoy is scared to mess with the MILF, thus preventing an all-out-war against them.

Default PNOY giving 5 million pesos to the MILF

Is the giving of 5 Million Pesos by PNOY to the MILF an aid to the enemy? It was given during PNOY's trip to japan, when he had a meeting with the MILF.
already admitted by malacañang sa ANC
