Default PC wont start / power-up problem

I have 2 pc units with the same problem, they just wont power-up when I turn-on the switch. So far this is only what I tried to remedy the problem. I replaced the power supply unit with a new one, but dili gyapon mo power-up. Basta ako lang na notice, mo turn-on man ang lights sa motherboard inig plug nako so that means there is power supplied to the pc right?

So unsa man ang problem ani? is it the motherboard or processor? kay new man ako power supply...

it's strip down time. remove everything from the motherboard. ibilin lang ang proc then boot up. your PC should have a beep. then reinsert the memory then try to boot up. try this cycle to determine the cause of the problem until everything is inserted back to its appropriate place. kung walay beep without the memory pa lang then try a known good mobo to isolate between mobo and proc. no need to test the PSU kay imo na man kahang giilisan og working PSU.

Bro, how many watts ang imong bago na ps? This is a common problem with generic pc's nowadays, with the new power requirements of the new processors and motherboards (even in standby mode), improper ang power supply, so it doesn't matter whether new or old ps.

Make sure 500W at least. Get the branded one if you can afford it.

thanks for all your posts.... and sorry karon lng ko reply coz i was out of town.

@spookey: ok I will try your strip down procedure to isolate the problem...

@jintatsu / donjenn: I checked the wires... intact paman..

@dexteral: theres no beeping sound.. the fans of both processor and video cards doesnt even turn...

@dubioz: its a 300watts power supply (new)... the original supplied PSU was also 300 watts so I think ok ra ang 300watts PSU.

Bingo! It's your power supply bro. New motherboards will not work on 300w. Local assemblers will not tell you this until you experience that problem.
