****PLEASE READ****
1. this adapter is designed to allow the HB 29 Lens hood of the Nikkor 70-200VR1 to be used on the Nikkor 80-200 F2.8
2. since this is a third party accessory, expect some adjustments upon placing this adapter/hood set on the 80-200 F2.8 to achieve the desired look on your lens
3. i have tested each set on my 80-200 and they all fit properly
4. it would be better if your front cap has the "pinch" release in the middle- see 2nd pic

Been getting a lot of inquiries regarding how the item fits on the lens. The adapter fits properly once mounted on the lens, it's tight and not easily dislodged. It is on the lens hood that ul be making a little adjustment. I've tried this procedure on my Original HB 29 and on the generic hood that is part of the package. Once you mount the lens hood on the adapter, twist/turn it til it locks,ul hear the snap of the lock. From this ul notice that the lens hood is slightly off-center, press the release latch of the hood and twist abt an inch to the right, just enough to align the small circle marker on the hood to the markers on the lens. Even if the lens hood is not locked, it will not dislodge from the lens. In fact, u can hold the tip of the hood and dangle (not swing) ur lens, it will not drop.

Hope this removes ur doubts and convince you even more to buy.
