Comment lang ko bro, wala ra ba'y historical basis to say that the original name of Cebu is Sugbo. AFAIK, this is a Tagalog invention when "Pilipino" was imposed as a national language. Since "Pilipino" did not then have the letters "C" to spell Cebu nor the letter "Z" to spell Zubu or Zebu (which are the names that appear in historical records) they chose the name "sugbo" from Cebuano, which when you think about it, is really a big insult. They might as well call us Sinugba-anons.
Anyway, thanks for posting this collection. Always glad to find a collection of photos of old Cebu.
