kaning mga membro sa CCAIB pulos amaw... just because way angay si josef
bullecer nga mag bikini, di pud siya ganahan mag bikini ang uban?

these are the same nut cases who confiscated supposedly "porno" magazines
sold in sidewalks.... the same gang who organized a "prayer rally" in 2008 aron
di modaog si Obama kay kuno pro-choice...

Some online comments in reaction to Sun.Star's report

Bikinis are just a form of clothing. If these people see something more with it or any form of revealing clothing style for that matter, should step back and think hard. I think the one wearing it is not the person who is indecent but it the person thinking something more from it. It is not the bikini that is indecent, it is the person thinking unclean thoughts. The world will be better off if we ban this kind of thinking.

Censorship versus Freedom of expression is the issue here.
Most people prefer to preserve, protect, and defend their freedom of expression
in the arts, music, politics, or any field of human endeavor. Using indecency as a weapon
to strictly prohibit wearing bikinis in any beauty pageant is beyond ridiculous.
Unless there is a major wardrobe dysfunction during the competation exposing the private
parts of the contestants, indecency hardly qualifies as a justification. Even then an accidental
exposure as opposed to an intentional one does not rise to the level of being offensive and indecent.
If the members of the CCAIB are allowed to have their way, our society will slip back fast to the
dark ages. We cannot imagine a world without a DAVID, MONA LISA, OR THE MADDONAS,
by the geniuses of the renaissance if censorship were allowed and imposed on Leonardo da Vinci,
Raphael and Michelangelo, can you ?

Try to imagine what organizers of international beauty pageants would think of Cebu City if the ban goes into effect.
