Manny Pacquiao just promoted to Lieutenant colonel from master sargeant escaping 5 ranks including major and captain..
And not to mention not passing the requirements, the policies and rules set on promotion in the army..

dnt be that ignorant. its just a title. an honor given to people who made names to our nation. alot of athletes are enlisted and have there own ranks too.

you did not get my point bai, ang point na ako gusto iemphasize is the rules, policies and requirement for granting the Honor, even if its just an honor, it has some guidelines that must be followed, atleast most of the guidelines should be followed not just giving the honor coz they want to..

..i agree that lots of athletes are enlisted and have there own ranks, but This is the highest rank given to a non-military person (thus the issue of not observing the requirements set).

Manny has 3 more years before retirement, and giving an honor to him everytime he fights and win is becoming a trend and already lost its meaning..

People seem to forget one major fact: Manny Pacquiao is not fighting solely for the honor of our country. The biggest motive he is doing what he does is the multi-million dollar prize money he gets every time he fights.

it wasn't really a promotion, but an appointment, hence the skipping of other ranks.

This puts him in the same rank as Sen. Loren Legarda, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and former Sen. Dick Gordon, who are also army reservist officers of the Philippine Army (also by appointments).

That shouldn't be too bad? Why such negativity?

He deserve the rank, coz he is exceptional. He did things more than any other man can that we can call a hero.
