A research project by Amsterdam-based artist Lucy McRae and synthetic biologist Sheref Mansy could soon render the skin application of fragrances unnecessary.

Springwise, a company that seeks out promising new business ideas, has introduced Swallowable Parfum to the world this week -- a capsule that is metabolized by the body to create a fragrance emanating from within.
"The strength of the resulting scent is determined by the individual's acclimatization to temperature, stress, exercise or sexual arousal," an article posted on Springwise's website explains.

In a world where nano-porous materials in our clothes can make deodorant unnecessary, it may seem almost old-fashioned to continue to apply perfume to our skin. That’s certainly the view of the team behind Swallowable Parfum, an innovation that allows users to swallow a capsule to produce a fragrance that emanates from within.

Created by Amsterdam-based artist Lucy McRae along with synthetic biologist Sheref Mansy, Swallowable Parfum is essentially a capsule containing synthetic fragrant lipid molecules that mimic the structure of the fat molecules naturally found in the body. When those lipids get metabolized by the body’s enzymes, fragrant molecules are released and excreted through the skin’s surface through perspiration. The skin, then, serves as an atomizer for the tiny droplets of fragrance that are left behind, and the strength of the resulting scent is determined by the individual’s acclimatization to temperature, stress, exercise or sexual arousal. Example when europeans comes to the philippines kabantay ba mo lain ila baho. . We can't determine what kind of smell is that. But I found out that ang baho nila is like a european style tomato sauce. . Ako ni nabantayan when one of my european friend ordered a meal with tomato sauce. . Ang baho jud sa tomato sauce kay mao jud ang baho mostly sa mga europeans. . This is same goes to us pinoys. We don't know lahi but ang smell nato sa ilaha mga europeans.

you talk as if you know that scientifically....FYI yes eating a gallon of tomato sauce would not make you smell like one but we are talking about diets...not one time meals....binata ra pud kaayo imo logic
